I know that this may be a broad questions and depends on what I want to program or do. First I would like to learn a language that would help on the long run, (meaning that it's used in many things and helps understand other languages). I also think this may be off topic but what programming language would help to make layouts here (two questions one thread you can label first one answer and the latter one answer b). Hope to get answers thanks community

If you want to start with the basics start with HTML and CSS which can help make layouts on here and can be used as a great starting base if you are new on making a website after that you could go to maybe javascript even though it doesn't work here.

Pretty much what Poke said, HTML and CSS make for great foundations for learning to code/program. I started learning HTML because every other thing is too hard, HTML is easy to learn and helps a lot on later stuff.

Well.... I'd recommend either C++ or Python. Once you learn C++, all languages related to it or have similar structures become a lot easier to understand. C++ is one of the most popular and powerful languages and many other languages are based on C++, so it's a good start.

Also, the coding languages used for vizzed layouts are html and css.

I'll give you my preferable choice as a programmer. Python would probably be the way to go. It's one of the most simple languages to learn. It's great for getting started because then you can learn all the basics of if's, loops, nesting and all other basic functions. Once you become adept in that you ccan start learning C++. If you want to start with C++ like Juliet said you could but it would help a lot to have some prior knowledge on how to avtyally code so you can learn it easier.

Poke and maguc aren't worng but HTML/CSS is more a script used for design and isn't something that'll help you learn any other language as it's unique. It won't help you in actually programming but if you want to take it up as a side hobby it's always good practice. It's also what you use to make layouts so if you learn the basics of that you should be good for that.
