This here Wii has changed my life. Before I got it, I only owned PS2 Nickelodeon games or whatever. I mean I DID have one or two Crash Bandicoot games and maybe a game about... sports. But yeah, I never really knew about how each franchise was amazing in their own way. My Wii changed that, cause my mom was able to get it for half off! With the purchase of 3 games or more... but HEY a Wii for half off! But the thing is... back them I wouldn't choose my games. I couldn't really pick a game myself, my mom or dad would just get me a game without my consent. This time was no different. The 3 games I got were Cocoto Racing, a game based off the movie Jumper (I actually never got to play it after my mom found out Griffin uses a knife to fight -__-) and THIS THING.

I barely played the thing, shoved it into my shelf, and it was never heard from again.

5 years later, or 4 1/2... I don't care... I was looking for Mario Galaxy or whatever when I stumbled across THIS. I knew it was one of the condemned... along with Cocoto Racing, Jumpstart Racing, and Chicken Blaster which I actually never really got past level 2.
Fricken Wii racing games...
Anyhow I actually didn't remember why I put it back there. But I was sure it was for good reason, but as I put that sucker in, didn't look as bad... YET.

We start off with some backstory. And by that some kid is walking by a tree, meets a random lady who starts reading him a book, and the book says this...

Long ago, there was a land with crystal waters and green forests, and like our world really exists. In this land lived the eau. The eau protected the tree of seven colors which watched over the land. Then one day the black water started raining down, and the evil (this is the main villain's name btw) Don Hedron appeared. Then to fend off the invaders the tree's blue fruit produced a little droplet of water. His name was Dewy. Dewy then went on to fight Don Hedron and his army. After a long and fierce battle, Dewy and the eau won, and the land was restored to it's former beauty. After many years the names Dewy and Don Hedron faded from memory. Then one day the black rain returned. This time far harder than before. It's foul waters stained the land black. Then using the last of it's power, the tree mustered enough strength to call upon the mystical droplet once more.

So yeah, we're dumped in hokori village where we meet some eau's and embark on an adventure!!! So yeah, I guess me not playing the game was based off me being sick of getting a buncha nickelodeon games and freaking racing games when my best friend goes to his house playing freaking CoD even though I'm technically OLDER than him and then a game that looks like THIS comes to me.
TABLE FLIP (/)/  |___|

The controls are pretty ok. You tilt the Wii remote to tilt the entire WORLD therefore causing Dewy to slide down the slope. You just tilt the remote wherever you want Dewy to go. You can get better scores each level by finishing fast or rescuing all the eau that are trapped in the black goo. Hmm... just like Epic Mickey had black gooey stuff. If you think that the constant tilt may be bad for Dewy's health you can hold down the A button to stay still. The B button? Oh that does nothing, what did you expect? Poor B button... While holding still you can shake the wii remote, and depending how you shake it you can make it windy or summon an earthquake.

Now then we are put into a tutorial showing Dewy's best abilities. We start off by learning 2 jumps and pressing 1 in mid air makes Dewy perform a... hip slam? Yeh, nice unintentional humor there. But we cant just rely on butt, I mean hip slams alone can we? Well you can also dramatically raise and lower the temperatures, and since Dewy is made of water he can turn into ice or mist. As ice dewy you can press 1 on the ground to turn into a spinning crystal, and in midair by pressing 1 you can do the most OP whombo combo on an enemy. The cloud form doesn't move, but he can produce lightning to shock all enemies under him. The longer you hold the button the more enemies you can hit. The electricity can kill weak enemies and stun others. And if you hit them while they are stunned you do SO MUCH FREAKING DAMAGE. Jeez, no wonder he's the hero of our tale.

There are 6 stages, and in each stage 4 acts and a boss fight. In act 3 you will find a mini-boss. After the boss fight you will get a fruit for the tree of seven colors, making it regain strength. Also there are monsters called gebotz, if you kill one soak in the pool it leaves behind to purify it and gain a health shard, and after getting 4 you gain extra health. At first you can only play the first grassland stage. Then you unlock 2 more in the forms of a jungle and icy place. In the jungle you use lots of switches and make wind and earthquakes to open new routes. In the icy place it's too cold to turn into mist, instead you can use the above average heat to melt ice away and raise the water levels. After that the last 3 stages open, a cave, desert ruins, and a volcano. The cave can be very hard to complete 100% as there are many alternating paths. The desert contains so many puzzles you need to solve to get by, and the volcano is the complete opposite of the ice world where it's too hot to be ice form. I actually recommend this one before the other 2 because although you lost your main attack method, pretty much every enemy here has a weakness to water. And since you can't be ice, it means you are forced to use water to attack enemies. So that sucks for them... a lot.

Oh, and before I talk about the bosses themselves, here's a moment I had in level 1:2...

Ok, I got all the eau here, oh hey a box! *Opens box and get's something that looks like a dirty diaper* Dahek is this? *Collects and music starts playing and I get covered in rainbows* Woah, is this a... *Sees large onslaught of enemies ahead* IT IS! *Starts running through everything* YES!!! FEAR ME!!! I AM THE ALMIGHTY WATER OF DEATH!!!!!

I had a lot of fun there :3

So the bosses of each world are pretty much tests of what you learned in the previous levels. The first boss is Gasdron, a gas monster in a rusty pot. You just avoid him until you have a good opportunity to attack with ice and then 2 big drops of water fall down. Turn back into water to become giant and get sucked into a cannon plant. Then like with any other cannon plant you shake the controller as much as you can to wash off the rust on the jar, revealing the gold. After getting rid of all the rust the jar comes to life and grows flowers, somehow killing Gasdron.

Boss 2 is Geldron, a crab monster covered in plants. You need to hit the switches while avoiding the goo it swings at you to summon a pillar. Then you get inside and pull Geldron down to attack it. After losing half his health he decides to drop down and crush you with his claws. You need to avoid his legs and hit the switches again, this time the pillar launches him up causing him to crash down. After hitting him and finishing him off he gets crushed on the ceiling and blossoms into a flower.

Boss 3 is Icedron, some evil princess with a hula hoop. I'm not even joking here, that's what it is. Anyways she summons ice blocks and such, and you can use your spin attack to launch the blocks back at her. After doing enough damage the ring will fall exposing some bubble with a red orb. And the reason I love this fight is because you get to then raise the temperature, enter a beam of light, shoot it at her unprotected bubble... and shake the controller all over the place knocking her into everything. YUS! DIE! DIE! DIIIIEEEE!!! She then gets trapped into her bubble and dies.

Boss 4 is umm... uh... I forgot it's name. ._. Well it's a giant caterpillar that shoots poison at you and it's really gross because it flies into mutant gebotz and comes out the mouth of another somehow... eugh. After killing all the gebotz he fights you like a man in one of the most annoying fights ever. You have to use ice to attack sections of it's body causing all the ones connected to that point to fall off. Then you can break them, but only like one at a time because after a short time they start spinning back to the head to re-connect. And knocking them off is hard enough. As you try to knock off the part closest to the head it just eats you making you try and escape. And sometimes he flies off the edge making you fly to him and, once you knock off the parts, you just fall into the pit. By the time you respawn and get to a piece that landed on the arena it would begin spinning back. Also when you fall off and respawn sometimes it's right there to instantly eat you. Gets much better after breaking all of them though because it's just a head. It then flies up, shoots out lots of poison, and crashes down letting you attack it and break it's jaws, defeating it. And on that note... is it caterpilldron? Nope, too long... maybe it had something to do with poison? Or it's jaws?

Boss 5 is actually kinda tough. Mummydron is... well... a mummy. At first you have to break it's supporting pillars making it's coffin fall down. Then he breaks out and summons 2 staffs to him. They absorb lightning and he uses them to block attacks. You can attack if he doesn't have the staffs to protect him, and there are times you can electrocute him after certain attacks. He can also wrap you up and steal your health. After beating him he starts turning into dust and gets trapped in his coffin.

The last boss is another caterpillar in lava. But not just any flaming caterpillar... HE HAS A MUSTACHE! XD After extinguishing his firebreath you can hit his head candle, killing him. But he then resurrects as a... girl? I dunno, he suddenly becomes a moth, his name being Mothdron, and looks like a girl now. Well yeah... SHE can now summon flaming tornados to attack you and make a large wave of lava only avoidable by turning into mist. Then you launch fireballs at her and she grabs you, you knock her down, hip slam her a bunch of times, and repeat until she dies. Yeah, unlike other bosses she doesn't leave behind a flower or gets trapped or anything, just... dead. :c R.I.P. mustache worm who became a girl butterfly.

Now before we go into the ending territory everyone tells me to warn for spoilers for even though it would be pretty clear to whoever is reading that we're reaching ending territory yet they still read on and complain to me for not leaving it and reading something else, lets discuss the categories up there that I always forget to talk about and cause even more complaints due to lack of elaboration even though there isn't even a gameplay category up there!

The graphics look amazing, they show beautiful environments making you feel like you really are in the world. And the animations on Dewy are very smooth too. He really does look like a jiggly drop of water. The world also changes depending on the temperature, sometimes I just like to stop for a bit and change temperatures watching how the scenery changes. The music is very upbeat and atmospheric giving off the vibe of whatever stage you are in. And the boss fights can sound pretty amazing as well. Yet there isn't as much a reason to replay through unless you really want to say you've found everything in Dewy's Adventure. The collectables are usually for parts in the level creator and picture frames. (oh yeah, you can also make levels and try them yourself or with multiplayer and take screenshots of levels by pausing and taking a picture)

Now once you've gotten through all 6 stages, beat all the bosses, and get the other 6 fruit for the tree of 7 colors, making it, once again, a tree of 7 colors, a new world opens up, Don Hedron's space. Hedron's space is a gauntlet where you have to fight off against anything you have fought already, be it a wave of any enemy, a mini-boss, or even be forced to fight another boss again. I had to fight Mummydron again.

Once you've beaten all the mini-bosses again and performed enough trials to open the final gate, you fight Don Hedron himself. He starts to rant on about how he got pissed after being banned from Dewy's world all these years and using his evil water from the netherworld he's gonna beat you once and for all. Now this battle is both really hard and really fun. First he sends out large waves of black water that he will use to try and push you off the stage. While he does this, his magic parrot monster thing will transform his stick into lightning rods and cannons. If he uses his rod, turn into mist to reflect the lightning back at him. If he uses the cannon, he'll either shoot ice blocks to spin back at him, fireballs to knock back into him, or a bunch of giant chompy's you just avoid. In phase 2 his monster turns his stick into a hammer to smash you king Dedede style. Avoid his hammer's smash and fight off any enemies that spawn. After his 4th or so smash a black hole forms, not only sucking you, but any enemies on the field including Don himself. You and him now run from the black hole while he tries launching fire at you. You have to knock them back at him to make him get caught and then not let him pull you in with him. Then you use that opportunity to beat the crap outta him. Then it seems you have finally won, but Don really doesn't wanna take another loss like this. He seems really pissed off now, so much that his text is completely red. ._. Then his head blows up. Yes, his head blows up, and we see his true form.

Yeah, according to the boss list he was a polluted tree all along. So yeah, this entire game was one big environmental message... HOW COULD I BE SO FOOLISH!? The black gunk ruining the beauty of this land, some of the bosses directly involving a monster becoming something beautiful... or dead, pollution kills stuff too, the IN-GAME ADVERTIZEMENTS of aquapod water bottles, I should have known all along. Well this part can be tough, one because you still have however much health you have left after the previous fight, two because it's IMPOSSIBLE to win. He has 3 health bars instead of the usual 1 or 2, and once you take 2 down he launches 3 balls of exploding sludge that are un-avoidable and kill you in one hit. But that was meant to be the point, survive until you get hit by the balls. Then you see Dewy's dead body and...

JUMPSCARE

Naw just kidding, but yeah, Dewy was killed. Then Don has his minions go finish him when suddenly all the eau of the world come and save you. They start jumping and they have you jump as well with the eau for what seems like a whole minute and then Dewy gets the power of the fruits and charges into Don. But he doesn't get killed, instead the power of the fruit turned him into a healthy and beautiful tree. Then it seems Dewy left, but when an eau looks up it gets implied he saw Dewy again, but we never know for sure cause, SUPRISE CREDITS CHORUS OF 2ND GRADERS!

And that was the end, oh and that boy was reading a book the whole time, let's not forget that.

So that's it, now if you excuse me I never got to put in the jumpscare picture because "the area I'm attempting to access is forbidden" so yeah, refresh the page to see that, lol bai... oh wait I can just preview the page and then put it in... ok NVMND

Mecha Leo :

Nice review, keep it up, sounds like you enjoyed the game.
You ever wish for a sequal?

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

This is a decent review, although it seems more like half game guide and half review. It glosses over a few important categories, like music and addictiveness. Also, your layout made it nearly impossible to read without going to the reply page.
As for the game, this is one of the first Wii games I got, and I still haven't finished, although it is a pretty interesting game. Even the custom game modes were pretty fun to play for a while.

patar4097 : so there ARE people out there...
Ok, so this may or may not be, just like, pretty much... every other review I've made in my life. Don't get me wrong I made a normal review once, but it was my first ever and all I ever got was bad criticism saying how stupid it was from some jerk who the next day made me believe he sold like 4 million books when it was a copied review.

But I make these knowing it's the thought that counts.

Mecha Leo: Then that person from back then sounds like a tool and you should not let your comments influence your review like that. Because this isn't a review as much as it is indeed a guide. This features waaaaaaaay too many spoilers for the actual game, and doesn't focus much on what yuo thought about the stuff that matters.

Mecha Leo : About 70% of the entire thing. Enough to know that alot of the 2900 words are about pointers of stuff you need to do in the game, which is what should be in a walkthrough. Not in a review, where you're supposed to tell us what you liked about the game while spoiling as few as possible of the game.
