Mario Golf : World Tour for the Nintendo 3DS is for the most part a return to form it. It's worth noting however that all of the addictive RPG style elements found in the portable installments are absent here. There is a very basic stat system that allots you things such a better sweet spot and farther drive depending on the equipment that you decide to buy. There is a lot of equipment to find and this can get quite addictive to see what you're going to get next it won't take too long before you have it all as almost any kind of match you do awards you a new item to buy from the in-game shop.

The real star in this game is the courses which would make an otherwise boring plain game of golf a much more exciting affair. There are 3 courses (18 holes) that you can play on at the beginning and plenty more 9 hole ones to unlock. Simply put there's a lot to do in World Tour I should probably explain that the experience is divided into two modes Castle Club Mode which acts as your story mode and in which you can only play as your Mii as the other Mario characters will be busy being your opponents and then there's the Quick Round Mario Golf mode which is where you'll be able to play as any Mario character you wish but don't be mistaken this mode isn't just for conducting matches. As I mentioned earlier there are additional 9 hole courses which can be unlocked.

Within this mode you will find challenge mode which will task you with completing courses under certain criteria while collecting Star Coins, these coins will unlock the courses I mentioned earlier. This mode is also home to Tournaments which anybody can create one and there's also Nintendo created ones that will award you exclusive items you can't get otherwise so they're definitely worth checking out.

Mario Golf : World Tour is a very good looking game all of the characters look fantastic and alt of effort was into each of their individual animations every single character has a different way that they react to certain situations such as getting a bogey or double bogey which is a really nice touch and is fun to watch especially when Bowser literally attacks you for playing poorly.  While characters may be important in a golf game they're only half the story a game like this needs courses that continue inspiring you to come back time and time again and this game's later courses certainly deliver on that big time. This game is not ashamed to show it's use of the Super Mario license and it really shines for it.

Just swinging around a golf club is going to get kinda boring after a while but again not to worry as this game features various items from the Super Mario series that will really mix things up and add in an additional layer of strategy. Players new to this series or golf games in general will be happy to know that this game is very much accommodating  to them it features things such as a handicap in order to make playing with the tougher opponents of the game not so brutal and gives you another use for Nintendo's genius Play Coins you can use these to buy things such as mulligan (second chances). If you love the previous games you've find ALOT to like here and even if you're just getting started take comfort in knowing this game is not going to just run off leaving you in the dust.

There's just way too much to be able to cover in a single review but just know that there's plenty to keep you coming back and that you won't go wrong hitting the green with this game.

I didn't find this one as good as the other Mario games.
