I couldn't find a board addressing this topic, and I'm 98% sure it exists, but OHHH WELLLL!
As far as I can tell, The Viz Battle Area isn't in active development, odds are it won't for a while, but I thought, "Hey, why not start suggestions for it?"
I was thinking regards to the system, and, really, almost everything is in place.



We have stat's, we have levels, we have a way to find users... all that's really required is a way to attack them, and BOOM! People can finally start using there wooden shields and rocket launchers.



Again, there's probably a system planned for attack, but I'll work on the pretense that the idea page was lost to oblivion the last time David saved the world in a noble, and epic sacrifice t-*bonk* Owwwwwww!



Okay, okay, that was a secret, Mooovvinngg oonnnn:





Guide of AttackAnyway, there's two ways to go about this:



The battle can either be Active or Passive . Not sure if there should be a way for both, but I'm still thinking this through. Please let me know in the comments!



Normal users day: Found a shield, some kleats, a sword, and thinks "Hey! That guy has lots of viz!" and thus decides to challenge him to MORTAL COMBAT!



He doesn't quite realize that the user he's attacking is a local mod with every single Viz'd weapon available, but that's not important.

Active:



IF the user is ONLINE, a Battle window pops up in a notification. "User (soandso) Has Challenged you! Do you Accept?"


If agreed, the BATTLE COMMENCES!



If the user is OFFLINE, the attacker is given a choice: Steal or Battle.
If Battle, the process is the same as above. But if they choose to steal, they can try to take a certain amount of Viz (Cannot be more then 1% of the Viz the person owns, or 1,000 Viz(?), whichever is smaller)



If they're speed is high enough, they will succeed, but lose Honor and get Targeted as a Thief (if caught and beat, they must pay double to the robbed. The winner gets a bounty bonus and I'm getting off track.)

The winner gets Glory and Viz, but depending on the side your on, you'll get a bonus. An attacker gets bonus Viz for winning, but the defender gets bonus to Glory.



You can NOT attack someone if they have less then 1000 Viz.



Passive:


This is similar, but there's no stealing. (Thinking this would be easier to code).




A user can choose to not participate in battles. If this occurs, nothing happens, and the attack











Guide of BattleBack to the normal day: The Challenge is accepted. The user's all excited to fight the local mooooooooohhhh dear his stats are off the charts.



So: What happens next?

The Attacker/Defender HP position change on who's turn it is.



The attacker has "Attack" Commands? (Slash, Punch, Special, and LEERROOOYYYY) , and the defender has "Defence" commands (Counter, Guard, Special, and JEEEKKKIINNNS!)



The damage done depends on the attacks chosen:
Counter will return damage from a slash,? but the user will take total damage from special attacks.
Guard is a cure-all that will cut damage from any attack, but you will still take some damage.
Special is... special. Barriers, Speed boosts, buffs, Ect. It costs MP to use

JEEEKKKIINNNS is totally optional and I don't know why I put it in there.





Slash attack is very damaging, but it may slow you down a bit, and takes a lot of damage from counter.


Punch attack does less damage, but it's quick! Also, counter won't hurt you back.


Special is, again, special. What you can do depends on what you have equipped (BAZZOOOOKKKAAA), but most moves will cost MP



Retreating means you lost the match, if you're fast enough to get away (else, you're taken the full blow). You lose some Honor and Glory, but you won't lost Viz (Though, this could be turned off?)






In Active mode, The number of attacks depends on the speed. High speeds means the turn time is lower.
Example: Someone with 15 speed can go 1.2 turns more VS someone with 10 speed.? After 5 turns, 15 speed can go twice when fighting 10 speed

This is temporary, I don't know what would work best. x.x;














Honor and GlorySo: What's Honor?
Honor is a measure of how "fair" you fight. Challenging opponents near/above your level, attacking with similar health, and attacking different users will gain Honor.



Likewise, Challenging weaker users, attacking those with low health, and picking on one user for a while will Lose Honor.
Honor is a multiplier. It increases the Viz and EXP you win after battles, and allows you to equip "Good" Items (Holy weapons and other such)


Low Honor will cause you not to gain as much EXP, and set the multiplier to 1.

Buuuuuttt......
It also opens Evil items. They might be powerful, but they take HP to use, and Viz gain is minimized.



So: What's Glory?



Glory is won for winning. It's slightly altered with Honor, but it's not greatly affected



The stronger the opponent, the greater the glory. Once you have enough, you can use it to buy extremely powerful items. (Maybe convert to viz?)





Now: Disclaimer:


My knowledge of HTML is low. The Feasibility of this, how long it would take, I don't have a clue.

There's a lot that can be added to this, and a lot that's totally unnecessary.

This suggestion has been added to the Suggestions Thread. I will, however, leave this open for anyone to comment on the idea.

I personally don't like the 'steal' portion. 1,000 Viz is actually a lot harder for some users to gain. This would be very inconvenient for the RGR people who only gain Viz for logging on and using them to play games. Even if they only lose 1% of their total viz, it would still be upsetting for those users.
