Hello and greetings I thought id like too open up a psychology forum because I thought hey it be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts about everything and as a subject i plan on majoring in the future I thought about starting a thread too hear everyone's thoughts.

So what's the purpose of this thread? To discuss psychology?

Psychology is a very broad topic, you know. It involves some themes such as motivation, emotion, memories, human development, dreams, behavior, etc.

Because of how vast that topic is, I can see this thread going from one direction to another, jumping from theme to them, having no set structure or order.

You want to hear people's thoughts about psychology? Well, what about psychology do you want to understand, then? Asking about people's opinions about psychology is like asking about people's opinions about the ocean; you will probably get answers like "I like it" or "I don't like it" or "It doesn't matter with me" and you won't get a lot of insight unless you ask specifically what it is you want to know.

Crimson Pheonix : if there were a forum most likely branched off into certain sections like animal psychology neurology? and sociology dream analysis maybe. I am however always open reading about very interesting topics that pertain too it.

I know that Psychologists have leaned toward a biological understanding of the human brain in recent decades, so what's your opinion about Freud and other pseudo-scientific psychologists?

For me personally, it makes no sense to claim all problems are a result of repressed sexual desires. =P
