I wouldn't say it's over just yet.

I remember last TdV. After the first week, I was down 60 points. I came back (and with virtually no points in red).

It's all about consistency.

The month is still fresh.

Nah. Even though Zander's posting a lot, I don't think that should be done. (Nor do I think should that be done for anyone)

It really isn't that hard to beat him, if you want to. It just takes effort. The thing is, he's the only one who seems to want to put in the effort required to win.

It really is just about who wants it more. Has basically nothing to do with anything else. Just don't get DQ'd (Super easy to not get DQ'd) and want to win, and you'll do fine.

Yeah, very good point. I feel like I could beat him if I really put my mind to it, but I also kinda feel like my posts loose a significant amount of meaning when they're just being fired off one after another.

I almost feel like even though I'm not lying in my posts, I'm posting for the wrong reason. Instead of commenting on things and sharing opinions I'm just running around trying to win jerseys. 

Meh, maybe I'm overreacting. 

EideticMemory : In the last TdV, the only reason Bintsy lost the lead is because she had to go inactive for a while because of what happened with her Mom, it's very unlikely that something as big will happen to zanderlex to cause him to have to stop competing all together. The only thing that would stop zanderlex from continuing to compete in my opinion is if he got DQ'd, otherwise he seems pretty serious and dedicated to win this Tour de Vizzed.

legacyme3 : Another requirement is to have a ton of free time lol. But yeah, I agree that it'd be silly to make a post syndrome after him because of his TdV performance. If I ever was going to name a post syndrome after a user, it'd be because that user made more posts within 24 hours than any other user and we all know who has accomplished that lol.

Oh man, this is going to be SUPER hard. But today I'm at least trying to compete. ^.^'

Davideo7 : Although, a ton of free time doesn't necessarily mean a shot at taking the leader spots, I mean, I'm on for around 12-14 hours a day, and I've only placed in ONE Jersey, and that was a 4th place, then again, I'm not posting in x number of threads per day, so, that may explain it, but I do try to make sure my posts are around 200+ words.

Regardless, zander is eating this competition up, if he continues as he is, everyone else will be floundering, consistency is key, as EM, said.

I know what you mean about posts losing significant meaning. The only real reason you see me on this chart is because of my dedication to my Star Fox RPg and other projects, plus I have way to much free time. I sort of compete. . . for yellow and red only, but I'm not going to go looking for a place just to post something and that's it. If I don't win that day, cause I didn't happen to find a place to post. So be it, I'm not really going for jersys in the first place- but this is one of the best times of the year for me to bring attention to stuff like fanfics. etc, so that's what I do.

You're right. There's a great chance for zanderlex to win. It's just not the time for everyone else to give up. Plus, a close competition would be fun to watch. =)

It looks like I am getting back in the swing of things after a couple days of problems, but I still have to be careful for a while. Hopefully, I can average at least 5 points each day for the rest of the month. That is my goal.

legacyme3 : I'm surprised to hear you say that you wouldn't do it lol. I think there should be just 1 syndromes dedicated to the user who has made the most posts within a 24 hours and the number of posts required to hit that syndrome would be the number of posts that user got. Now if anyone hits that syndrome and exceeds it, the syndrome gets renamed to that new user and the post requirement gets changed to however many posts that new user got within 24 hours.

I dunno. I don't think that sort of thing is needed to begin with.

I'd dedicate something like that to somebody incredibly important, not just someone who made a lot of posts. We have a posting record, and that's cool for people who care about posting records, I don't think there needs to be any reward beyond that.

For a big post syndrome, I'd go as far as maybe naming it after someone legendary in the community, long past the point they should be relevant, someone like MichaelVash, who when "I" was still a new member, was hailed as "The Legendary Poster" or DarkHyren, who was a driving force for a long time.

And they'd remain static, with no replacement in the name, a permanent syndrome to be remembered.

But I digress, I don't think there should be any new syndromes, at least until all the current ones are hit. And with how high some of them are, I don't think that day will ever come lol.

legacyme3 : I don't know if you're familiar with the username WvoulfeXX but on the old board he made 1000+ posts within a 48 hour period. I think he may have done 600+ posts within a first 24 hours of that period. He was legendary on the old board but not so much on this one.

On this board, MichaelVash and John were both legendary users. Both held the title of highest post count for a while, I think John held it for a longer period than MichaelVash.

I support the idea of honoring older, veteran, legendary members of the community who left their mark, much more than those who are recent users who managed to break a silly record (and most of the time, when the post records are broken here, a large amount of spam is involved).

Was the old one any more active than this board? I'm trying to wrap my mind around the logistics of WvoulfeXx doing that.
