I've never really been a fan of super mario games, But this one caught my eye about 3 years ago when i joined vizzed. I REALLY didn't like it. I thought it was the biggest piece of garbage in video game history. I despised the stuffing out of this game. Because i thought it was way too hard. Years later, I obtained this game from my cousin, And i fell in love with it. I suppose at the time, I wasn't very good at turn based RPG's besides pokemon. So, After boycotting the game so long and recieving it, I learned that it's easier if you turn off the reaction commands. It was probably the biggest derp moment of my life. I don't want to drag on for too long so I'll start the review.

Graphics:8. The graphics are somewhat good compared to other titles released on the system, But could be a lot better. I suppose if you would do that you may have to cut back on other features of the game, But that's understandable. So i can see why they went with the graphics on this.

I enjoyed the graphics. They're "pretty". But i honestly think it's a bit weird that most of them have to do with beans. I mean, Could they not have went with a better subject? Beans! What's with beans?

The bright shiny colors of certain places may be hard on the eyes, But if you can get past that it's quite pleasant to look at. Although some of the things may not make much sense. Such as to why there's bean pictures everywhere. I'm pretty sure the game doesn't revolve around beans.

Although they don't look like other super mario graphics, I think the new turn of graphics is good for the system. If they looked more looked like other titles for the GBA such as medal of honor infiltrator, It wouldn't really work In my opinion. Medal of honor infiltrator looks a bit clamation, Whereas this looks more cartoony.

I also noticed, That looking through a ROM of the game, There is several sprites that were supposed to be in the coffee place. Such as fox, Captain olimar and pikmin. These sprites look pretty darn good, And i wish it was included in the game. 8/10.

Sound:4. Wasn't really impressed with the sound on this... Although the yoshis sound cute, the boinging of mario is way too generic. Sounds like half a dozen other games out there. Although i suppose that's what they were looking for, More SMB sounding effects.

Usually when characters talk in GBA games, It never really sounds quite like a human voice. Although it does with this game. I was suprised to see that there were voices. The voices sound good, But the voices REALLY don't fit the characters... But ehh.... To each their own. And by that i mean my opinion is your opinion

Music:8. Usually in GBA titles, They reuse music from previous games. They did it here too. But, That's not to say it doesn't sound good. It's rather nostalgic, And they redid it a bit here. They also creted entirely new music, Such as that beany village place, And the final battle music. A lot of the time you may get annoying earworms from them, But some of them are good.

The minigame music is my favorite, It uses the old music from whenever you get a star in SMB, mixed with some pretty peppy music to help you concentrate. I myself suck at most of the minigames, so it really helps me out at times.

The music for the barrel game is interesting. It's that one from super mario world. Although i have never really played to far into that game. And i only recently played it so i can't say it's nostalgic for me. But if you played SMW as a kid, It would be very nostalgic.

Addictiveness:6. They game is fairly addictive, But may get old after a while of playing it. After you beat the game, There's a little to do... You could go around, Do some sidequests, Brew all of the coffee, And look for all of the items. After that there's not really much you can do besides try to trainthe characters to the highest level, Or train their stats to the highest level using coffee. Initially i thought that this was had a high replay value, But after i beat it it got pretty boring. 6/10.

Story:6. The story is... quite odd. The beany whatever kingdom, Made a peace offering to the mushroom kingdom. (I have no idea why though) And it turns out, it was some weird midget dude, And some wannabe princess/queen or whatever, Steals peaches voice. Supposedly to awaken some sort of bean idol treasure that grants wishes. So the wannabe can rule the world or something. So mario and luigi have to go beat her up. That's pretty much what i got from the story. Other than that, It seems like a typical legend of zelda storyline. Person steals princess/something the princess has, Dude goes to beat up the person and retrieve it. The thing the persons after is some sort of thing that grants wishes and power. Not very original... 6/10.

Depth:5. Like i said above, There's a little to do after beating the game, But after that, The game just seems really dull. Sure, You could look for some glitches after getting all of the items, sidequests, and leveling up all they way, But that's pretty much it. But that's only if you like glitches. Myself personally, I like glitches. But I've met a lot of people who say that it ruins the experience.... Try to max out on money, Beans, And everything else under the golden sun, But that's it. 5/10.

Difficulty:10. I had a harsh time with this game in MANY places such as the desert, Hoohoo mountain, The castle, Basically EVERYWHERE. I still have some trouble with popple in the desert, even though I've had about 4 playthroughs. I never think to get a whole lot of beans from the border jump so i could max out their luck. And i've only beat the final battle about 2 times, So i suppose it doesn't count as 4 playthroughs. I had extreme trouble with this game Every. Single. Time. I played it. I'm not a very good gamer I guess... Always think games are incredibly hard. 10/10.

Overall:7.9. This game has a good flow of difficulty, Graphics and story, But they should really cut it down on the beans. I still don't understand why it's beans they used for the game.

Not bad. I am guessing that you typed this up on Microsoft Word or something and pasted it in because of the strange spacing. This review was funny and informative. It was pretty good, but could have been a little better. Overall though, good job and, uh, have fun with your beans

tgags123 : lol I laughed when I read that comment about the beans.

Yeah, I usually type down my reviews in wordpad before I submit them to vizzed. Makes sure I don't lose it because the site goes down or something.

Dat bean comment tho. Funny stuff.
