Hello everyone, today I will be doing a review of a splendid classic arcade game none other than super pac-man! This great arcade game was finally released in North America in November, 1982 and it is the 3rd pac man game in the series. Pretty cool right? Nevertheless, I will get started with the awesome review of this game! So sit back and relax...

Graphics: 8

While this may be more of an old school game, the graphics are very simple. You are pac man and your objective in this particular game is to eat keys instead of dots in order to open parts of the maze which contain fruits, or foods or other items you are supposed to eat. You start off with apples, and then bananas and then it progresses from there with each level you finish successfully. So there isn't really anything special about the graphics, they are rather simple and they are pretty much like regular pac man games with the exception that the maze is arranged differently and you must eat keys in order to move on to the next level rather than just munching on dots. One cool thing that I like about it are the super pellets which let you turn plain ol' pac-man into the monster of super pac-man which has an increase in size and power. Also, if you eat a regular power pellet, the ghosts will turn blue and you can eat them along with being in super form. You know that your super form will wear out because pac-man will flash white before reverting back to his classic size. That's really all there is graphic wise, and considering it came out over 30 years ago, when video games were just beginning, the graphics were pretty simple, nevertheless I scored them an 8.

Sound: 6
As for sound, the sound is a lot different than in the original and you don't hear the waka waka waka all the time unless you have eaten the items on the inside of each of the locked mazes. There are very few sounds in the game when the ghosts turn blue and the music changes from the normal sound always playing in the background. The sound is overall pretty simple and there isn't really anything advanced or special about it other than it changes depending on the items you eat and it you turn into super pac-man. Also, if you eat the little star in the middle you will get points for the items that appear on both sides. The points are determined by the items you roll and if they match or not. Other than that, there really isn't much more I can say about the sound for this game. Overall the sound is pretty simple and basic, so I scored it a 6 considering it there are a few differences between this version and the original.

Addictiveness: 9
This is easily this game's strongest factor, if it is anything, it is addicting, maybe not so much for people now since not very many people play it anymore, but back in the day, its main purpose served to get attention and was made for you to get hooked on it and play it over and over so you could beat your high score, and before you know it, you have spent a ton of quarters playing this game! Part of the reason why it is so popular and addicting is because it was simple, at least the way I see it, all you had to do was get points by eating ghosts and the food items. Simplicity is what made this game popular, there was no complex storyline to interfere or get in the way of the game. Because the objective was simple and it was easy to get points, it motivated you to play it more and get the top score. Simple as that. That is one of the contributing factors to why it is so addicting, and the other is that it only cost a quarter to play. May not seem like much, but soon enough it adds up! So, the addictiveness is this game's strong point because it is an arcade game and it is easy for anyone to play, therefore I scored it a 9.

Story: N/A
Why did I score this game an N/A for the story? Because there is absolutely no story behind this game whatsoever! What are you doing in a maze swallowing keys and eating food from a group of colorful, annoying ghosts while saying waka waka waka? No one knows, and this contributes to the overall simplicity of the game that I mentioned earlier. If there was a big fat story and plot in this game, then it wouldn't be as addicting to play, and it might even come off as confusing or even boring. So instead of a story, it is replaced with a simple objective which still keeps the game fun and addicting overall. So there is no story here for this game and I think it is best left that way personally. A story would only make this game less fun and re-playable the way I see it.

Depth: 5
This game doesn't offer much length wise, it is basically the same thing over and over again, but it just gets progressively harder with each level you reach. The only thing that I think this game offers is a challenge and it tests your skills and strategy because there is no storyline for this game and because of that, it doesn't really go anywhere compared to a game like final fantasy for example, you don't make enemies, level up and fight monsters or rescue a princess or anything like that. So in the end, this isn't really an adventure/journey type of game that is meant to last for hours of gameplay, instead it is a short game that only lasts for about a minute for each level and then over and over again for all of the levels in the game. So all this game really tests is your skill with each level that comes and goes, the ghosts get faster, the super pellets last for a shorter period of time and it just gets harder with every level. Overall I gave the game a 5 for depth because it isn't meant to be a game that takes you on a journey or adventure.

Difficulty: 5
The difficulty of this game increases with every level, just like most good arcade games do. It gets harder and more challenging to complete your objective with each round that passes. In this game's case, it becomes more difficult to complete the maze and eat all the food items without dying. With each level that you reach, the point values of the items you are eating increase, however, the ghosts get faster, the super pellets and regular pellets decrease in length when you use them as well as the time you spend as super pac man in each level. If your pacman skills are sharp however, it shouldn't be hard at all, even if you aren't an expert, you're in luck because anyone can play this game and become good at it with a little practice. Overall the game isn't really extremely difficult, and it doesn't really start getting hard until after the bonus round where you eat the shoes.I have the actual game at home and I played it on a joystick and I was able to score some pretty big points, on vizzed however, it is pretty different and it is a bit harder, but with practice, you will get the hang of it, thus I gave it a 5 for difficulty.

Overall: 9
In the end, I enjoy playing a classic arcade game every once in a while, even though they aren't that popular anymore, I still occasionally like to play pacman whenever I'm in the mood. It is a fun, little classic game meant for you to enjoy,I recommend this to anyone since anyone can play it, but I think that old school or classic arcade gamers would like this game best. I think this game is exciting and I find it addicting to play...and where else better to play it then on vizzed where you can save all your quarters? Until we meet again super pac man....

So what did you think of my review? Did you like it? Feel free to comment or give constructive feedback on my review so that I can continue to become a better reviewer. Thanks, hope you enjoyed it.

Nicely done. I remember playing this game when I had an Atari. The game was pretty simple. I found Pac Man to be difficult for me. Those monsters things always found a way to get me and thus I would get game overs real quick. Still It was fun to play. I can also remember growing up in the 80's how several stores would have this game set up for people to play.
