Hello everyone, today I will be reviewing a game from my early childhood, the game in question? The Powerpuff Girls - Chemical X-Traction!.

Let me give you a little background information. Upon seeing this title upon the shelves at my local game shop, you can imagine how excited I was to buy and eventually play this game. Sure, I liked it. It was decent, but not the best, not what I expected to be honest.

Graphics: Well, as this is the N64 Version of the game and not the PlayStation one, I'll omit a few details, the N64 one does not have the cut scenes, which make it seem less fun. Also the game makes the characters look really.. what's that word? Weird? No... Wacky? Nope... Oh yes, Out of shape. Quite literally too, Sedusa looks like a stickwoman with purple spaghetti flying out of her head for an example.

Sound: This is where the game gets it's good points, the characters are well voiced and the music is very good, it provides a very upbeat trumpet song of the Powerpuff Girls opening theme. Not only this but each stage has very good music too, which I believe is game-original. So bonus points there.

Addictiveness: This game is alright, it's not something I would come back to, but the game has a special condition to get to the proper end, you have to beat it with all three Powerpuff Girls to unlock the bonus stage and the final boss. It shouldn't be that difficult to assume who it is if you're a big fan of the cartoon. But I won't spoil it here anyway.

Story: Sugar, Spice and all things nice, these things were mixed together to create the perfect little... pie? Yep that's right, the game is about a pie. The pie is no ordinary pie mind you, this pie has a certain chemical in it. That certain pie gets eaten and gives the villains superpowers. Oh no!

Depth: Hardly a deep game until the last 2 "levels". The game is a standard beat-em-up with a very basic plot line but has it's perks in places. It would probably take you about 1 maybe 2 hours to beat dependent on the difficulty settings. But all in all it wouldn't take you that long providing you know what you're doing.

Difficulty: Already mentioned you can change the difficulty in the options menu but still a rather difficult game on the easy setting if you don't know what you're doing. The good thing is that the game is easy to pick up and get the gist of things.

Overall: A game for the kids, those who like the Powerpuff girls, I wouldn't recommend it to the hardcore lovers of the series as you may be a little disappointed with the end result.
