Goldenrod isn't hard! I defeated her with Bayleef I just used poison powder. Let the miltank use it's stupid rollout move on my pideot and then switched with haunter. Got it to sleep. Then, switched again with Wigglytuff, used flash and charm until it's stats couldn't go lower. Then, took out Bayleef and used Razor Leaf 'til it fainted. Oh and it was on Crystal.

I gave my vote to Whitney. She is without a doubt the hardest Gym Leader i have faced. Not a single Gym Leader has beaten me ever. Not even like me dying and then resetting the game so it doesn't count. They just haven't. Its because of the copious amounts of Potions and Revives i use. No, the easiest way i found of beating Whitney is 2 very different methods. First is using Croconaw. It learns Bite, and the Flinch Hax can really help in the battle. Just get it to level 20. If it isnt 20 and your attempting Whitney you are dense. The second way is to catch a drowzee, preferably around 18 and female. Then trade it to a worker in Goldenrod Dept. Store, somewhere in the basement. Itll give you a Machop for it. So youll have a lv 18 Female Machop who wont be affected by Attract. And itll know Karate Chop, giving you the edge with its super effective and high crit rate.

They were all pretty easy especially since I usually took the "raise the crap out of one Pokemon to outmatch every other Poke that you will face in the story." I went with Sootopolis since, that was 2 on 2 and I only had 1 good Pokemon.

The toughest gym of all time is Pokemon Yellow Pewter City Gym, when you battle Rock with your Pikachu! That was the hardest for me anyways.

Well for the people who chose Brock, think of it like this. In Yellow, a few Potions and a level 7 Mankey, which can be caught near Viridian, take care of Brock. In Red, Blue, FR and LG, Bulbasaur learns Leech Seed and Vine Whip at lv 13 in R/B/Y and in LG/FR it has them by 10. Squirtle gets Bubble and Water Gun by 15 in R/B/Y and by level 13 in FR/LG. Charmander doesn't get Metal Claw in R/B/Y but in FR/LG he does by level 13. So simply getting your starter to level 13, which is quite simple if you use him for a majority of Viridian Forest battles, then you can easily sweep through Brock. The reason i say use the for majority is because Pidgey's, assuming you caught one, level up naturally faster then many other Pokemon found near the beginning.

Its embarrassing but I always used to lose to to Wattson and Faulkner because I would always chose Grass types(not anymore, though). They were kind of tough! The magneton would get my grovyle until it learned leaf blade. Of course, back then I just rushed through the game. Now I do a lot of level grinding and am always way stronger than the gym leaders.

I think the 4th gym leader in pokemon G/S/C/HG/SS is the hardest. that gengar is a fright to me... always lulling me to sleep and using dream eater. not only that, one of it's haunter knows mimic, which can potentially cause damage to you if you use a powerful move.
