CAPTURES OUR IMAGINATION AGAIN LIKE A COMET THROUGH A MIDNIGHT SKY

Years from know ,I am confident when the time comes for a gamer to look back on his/her life and discuss all of their defining experiences of each genre , those experiences that brought them that MUCH CLOSER to this powerful,influential, medium we know as gaming , when it comes to their favorite vertically scrolling shooters,a particular sense excitement will arise,comforting them like a warm blanket, and it will always be apparent in their eyes,the ?enthusiasm in their voice ,when they mention the opus that is M.U.S.H.A. I know one of those voices will be mine

GRAPHICS: 10 The superlative fusion of Japanese architecture , ancient legend , mechanical war machines and bullets...lots of bullets, spring to life like a symphony of destruction.The art design consists of crushed blended ?dark ,earthy and metallic colored sprites detailing the planet speeding under you , bright yellows and orange paint each explosion with ferocity that follows every doomed pilot into oblivion.Due to the ?time and care that went into the graphics every stage is brought to life with ?inspired, fearsome, enemy designs like the rocket propelling ships painted with ancient demonic masks, to you're own flying mech bringing the heat. The animation on display here really helps sell the moment to moment on screen action in a way that you feel a visceral connection to the war above and below

MUSIC/SOUND: 10 The music in M.U.S.H.A is an adrenaline rushing, heart stopping Metal Synth experience that will cause even the most button up, blue collar, conservative gamer to start ?headbanging! The arrangements are layered with foot stomping bass patches , catchy synth guitar licks and professional drum breaks that ?marries the sound design perfectly with thunderous explosions of the highest caliber.Some of the most intense sound design to ever grace the Sega Genesis is here waiting for you!?

ADDICTIVENESS: 9 The game play for this vertically scrolling juggernaut is what brings everything together so cohesively , with an easy to understand weapon upgrade system , smooth responsive controls and button layout that makes zipping all over the screen seem like second nature and every time you endure a death it feels like you're fault, making a game of this nature less frustrating and more rewarding than most.Each stage is expertly designed with devious bullet patterns and Boss battles that u never feel a disconnect from the controller to the television and really cannot stop playing until you've seen it through to completion. Calling this game addictive is an understatement.

CHALLENGE/DEPTH: 8M.U.S.H.A is certainly not for beginners.The bullet patterns and enemy patterns demand patience as do the AWESOME bosses and the rate of speed at which this game operates on will break you're neck if you're not careful ! The game itself can be completed in roughly 25-35min which is pretty standard running time but within those 25-35 min this game will own you more than any shooter you might have played on a 16 bit-system before and once you beat it you will come back again and again!

CONCLUSION: M.U.S.H.A in many respects, shares a lot in common with this teams other amazing shooter BLAZING LAZERS on Turbografx-16 in a sense that each one of these titles pushed each of their respected platforms to their absolute limits and showcased to the world the incredible talent and passion this team had to putting their stamp on this particular genre.Thank you so much COMPILE for making me feel these experiences that I will be gladly and passionately talking about with other gamers in this genre for many years from now and know that your games will hold my imagination forever !!!

Nice review bud, I'm gonna go give this a try right now. And keep up these review they are great!

Post Edit: I just did a run threw and if you like the 2d vertical scroller this fits the bill. I was rockin through the first stage pretty good but they upped the difficulty and I lost my power ups and then it was game over pretty quick. I took a screen shot of my game over screen if you wanna check that out peoples.
