Hello everyone, it's your host Laian with a new walkthrough. 2013 did end with a long walkthrough (probably the longest walkthrough I've ever made) and 2014 has begun so here we go for a new year full of walkthroughs, stupid jokes and references included. You can see that I added a little something to this walkthrough: a banner. It's the new feature for my future walkthroughs. I also noticed that it's the month of Nintendo. Oh cool, I planned of making the walkthrough of a Nintendo DS game. And since it's January, let's play a horror game for Halloween... Wait what? It's in October, really? *go check closely the schedule* Whoops, yeah indeed, my bad. Anyway, let me introduce you the first DS game of my walkthroughs collection: "Dementium: The Ward". I've always been interested by that game, I wanted to see how this horror game was. It's a first person shooter/ survival horror game and I played a few games like this one, for example the great "Cry of Fear" on PC, which is a Half-Life mod and it's totally free. It's going to be another blind walkthrough then since I haven't played this game before, I just heard of it a long time ago and I found it interesting. But enough ramble. Time for a journey into madness. So follow me... if you dare... *maniac laugh with thunder in the background*

CHAPTER 1: THE ADMITTANCE

Good thing this game has chapters, it'll make the walkthrough easier for us ha ha. Ok, after the cutscene and the tutorial, go to the right and grab the notepad and the key on the floor. The notepad will come in handy, you can write some stuff on it and that's a cool feature in this game. You can see a message written at that moment: "Why did you do it?"... Do what? A murder? I guess we'll get the answer later in the game so let's keep that in mind and unlock the door with the key we just got. The door to your left is chained, you can't unlock it at that moment so go to the right. Some doors are locked here and won't open, however you can examine some stuff here and there like the newspaper article on the floor. The title says everything: a murder has been committed. Hmm, could we be concerned by this? Anyway, go in the room, keep in mind the code written on the wall (or simply write it down on the notepad), go back to the corridor and watch the cutscene. Ah, it's the crazed butt... sorry, I meant the butcher! Yes, the butcher! He is kidnapping a woman. Let's go save her! Unfortunately, we can't. The door is locked. Don't worry, woman that we probably don't know, we'll save you one way or another! Go to the left, take the flashlight and carry on. Type the code you saw earlier and go through the door. Oh cool, by the look of the corpse, it looks like we missed a party that went well. Take the nightstick on the ground, go check the security office to the left to find the map and a locked closet with... shotguns! We should come back later, we can't refuse the help of a boomstick ha ha. Carry on, face the first creature of the game and take some painkillers if you need to recover some health. There will be lot of painkillers in this game but you can't keep these, compared to any other survival-horror game (which is something I find really tedious since you might have to come back to some rooms in order to find those painkillers and take these to recover the health during the encounters). Oh well, no time to rant about such a minor problem, the game's not that bad so far so let's move on, shall we? You'll find nothing interesting in the restrooms but an enemy, some painkillers and a message. Go open the door to the right to enter the patient ward, check everywhere to find some painkillers, beat the creature and open the next door. You can see more painkillers in the next room. As I told you, you'll find lot of painkillers in this game. Take some if you need to recover some health and open the door to the east. Ah, bugs! Check everywhere as fast as you can to find... more painkillers (weeeeee, not surprising at all ) and go open the door to the stairs, go up and open the door to the roof to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 2: THE ROOFTOP

The rooftop is probably where the toughness will start. The first part of this game was the cruise, the walk of life. Ok, there were blood trails, corpses, creatures, a butcher... but you know, things can get even worse than this. For example, you shouldn't trust the deep silent complete. First rule of survival in survival-horror games: it might be a bad omen when it's too quiet so stay alerted, folks. You'll face lot of creatures on the rooftop and they appeared from nowhere, even behind you (and no, I'm not gonna make any jokes there!). Just be careful, listen closely to the sound and if you hear the sound of a shaking fence, that means that a creature wants to give you a hug. Open the door to the left halfway and take the 9mm handgun after the cutscene. Now, avenge the survivor, take the 9mm ammos and the painkillers then go back to the rooftop. Follow the blood trail, kill some creatures, open the door and go down as fast as you can because... here come the crawling bugs! Open the second door downstairs (the first one being locked unfortunately) and end the chapter.

CHAPTER 3: THE INFANT WARD

You'll see during the cutscene a little girl who runs away from you. Who is she and why did she run away? I guess we'll know the answer to those questions later. For now, move forward, kill the creature, grab some painkillers if you need some, and go in the room in which he was to find some 9mm ammos. Carry on, kill the next creature, go in the room he came from and grab more 9mm ammos (1). Kill the last creature of this section, go in the room and get the 9mm ammos. Now open the door, then the one to the left, kill the creatures, grab the painkillers, open the door to the right, notice the door locked to the left, grab the floor map on the seat and kill the creature in front you. Check the rooms to the right to find some painkillers, then open the door to the left, kill the zombie and carry on. Open the door, grab the ammos in the room to the right, carry on, notice the empty containers to your left, read the book on the chair open the next door and... oh cool, there's lot of toys here. It's cheerful... except the message in front of us. "Dead"... alright, let's check that toy piano! We need to play a melody. Ok but which one? Moonlight sonata? A nice requiem? That is what you are certainly wondering. If you remember the book, this should be familiar to you. Exactly, you have to hit the notes as mentioned by the message on the wall and the book. Take the keycard, the 9mm ammos and the painkillers then go back to the previous room. After the cutscene, don't waste your bullets on the crawling worms, run to the locked door, use the keycard and proceed to the next room.

Kill the creatures, take the ammos and the painkillers in the security office, carry on, kill more creatures, check the closets to get some goodies and open the door to the right. Sick of worms? No worries, there's more in this room. But if you need the ammos and the painkillers, you'll have to run and grab these then go back to the door. Otherwise, you can open the locked door to the left with the keycard and carry on. Oh no, not again! Don't waste your ammos on the enemies, RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN! Open the locked door, grab the ammos behind the desk, kill some creatures, check the closets to get some painkillers and carry on. Don't waste your ammos on the worms, run and open the door to the right. Hey look, more worms coming from the air ducts, woohoo! They are really persistent, good god! Open quickly the door in front of you, grab some painkillers and the ammos, open the door to the north, kill the creature coming at you and open the door to the north. You think the worms were a pain in the butt? Let me introduce you a new enemy: the banshees. They are persistent too and can kill you easily if you don't run to save your damn butt and open the door to the right. Grab the painkillers, open the door and go open the door to the left to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 4: THE CLEAVER

This chapter introduces the east building of this tormented place you've been wandering around for a while. You'll find some ammos in this hallway (that you don't really need) and some painkillers as well (that you really need... damn harrassing banshees ). After the cutscene, run to the next door. Yes, the worms are back to haunt you, isn't that lovely? In the next room, take the floor map and open either the door to the north or to the west. It doesn't really matter, they lead to the same place. Look around to find some goodies, kill the awaken creature and go open the next door. The bugs are back now. Look around, notice all the corpses and go open the door to the east. In the security office, there's a note and a cabinet with... a shotgun (also known as my boomstick ). However, you need to enter a code to unlock the cabinet. There were six corpse shown in the last room so 6x2= 12. Enter 012 and take the shotgun (2). In the next room, kill the creatures, grab some goodies, open the door the east, grab the ammos for the 9mm hgandgun and the shotgun in the office and go through the hole. Carry on, open the door, take the 9mm ammos in the closet and open the door to the east. Make your progress to the door, grab some goodies, equip the shotgun and face the first boss of the game: the butcher (also known as the cleaver). This boss is kind of tough to defeat. First, go to the right and run. He will chase you but he is kind of slow so you might face him at one point. Shoot at him and run. You'll have to avoid the worms at some points. Repeat this technique a few times and he will die. Ah, a friendly tip: try to hit his adorable face for a critical hit. After the fight, go through the next door and go in the elevator and press the flashing button on the panel to end this chapter.

CHAPTER 5: THE COURTYARD

Open the door, go downstairs and watch the cutscene. Go get the iron key the woman dropped, then open the door, go up to reach the roof and keep in mind the keypad. Now, go back to the courtyard, go downstairs, use the key to open the gate and carry on. Open the light grey door, go up, grab the piece of the photo on the floor (3), notice the keypad and go back down. Open the dark door to enter the church and look around to find some books to examine. Those are in fact places where you will get the other pieces of the photo. You have one in your possession. Go up and check the book. The piece of the photo will instantly appear. Time to find the other puzzle pieces. Go outside, then upstairs, open the door, grab the second piece of the photo and enter the elevator. Go to the fifth floor to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 6: THE ELECTRIC BUZZ-SAW

Take the floor map and open the door to the pharmacy. Kill the enemy, open one of the two doors, scavenge this room for some painkillers and open the next door. Open the door in front of you and check the chest on the table. You need three keys to open it. Read the notes to know the locations of those keys and carry on. Don't waste your ammos on the new enemy (the crawlers), check the rooms to find some ammos and some painkillers, open the door to the west, go down and grab the gold key. Go back to the previous room, open the door to the east, take the painkillers in the closet and open the door to the left. Run to the end of the corridor, open the door to the north, grab the goodies, go back to the corridor and open the door to the east. Open another door to the east, grab some ammos for the shotgun and the 9mm handgun in the security office, go back to the previous room, grab more goodies then go back to the corridor of worms and open the door to the west. Kill the enemies, grab some goodies in the closets, go to the east, then open the door to your left. Grab the shotgun shells and the painkillers if you need some, go back to the previous room and open the giant door. Go west, go in the women restrooms to find some painkillers, then to the men's restroom to find the bronze key in the toilets, go back to the room with the fireplace and go open the other door.

Oh, hanging bodies! I wonder who the decorator of this ward is seriously, he or she has special tastes. Open the next door, go to your left if you need some ammos for the shotgun and the handgun, otherwise carry on. Go east if you need some painkillers (they are kept safe by some crawlers though), otherwise go west, open the door, run to the end of the corridor and open the door. The black door to the right leads to an office in which you can find ammos and painkillers. Equip the shotgun, open the door and face the second boss of the game: Mister wheelchair galtingman. This guy... oh boy, he is not cool, I tell you. He keeps his distances to shoot at you with his galting gun. However, if you are close, he will run away from you like a coward. So you have to get close enough in order to shoot at him. Keep an eye on his movement, show your face and hide whil he's shooting. When he reloads his galting gun, charge at him and shoot his face. This fight should not be a big deal if you don't screw up. When he will be severely hurt, he will drop some gas bombs to make this fight a bit tougher. Keep an eye on him and repeat this technique until he dies. Open the door to the north, the the black door to the east, take the silver key in the bathroom (4). Keep in mind the yellow door and go back to the office with the chest. Use the three keys to open it and get the electric buzz-saw. Now, go back to that yellow door and open it. You'll find some painkillers in the closet to the right. Take some if you need to recover some health and open the door. Guess what? It's time to meet your friends: the banshees. With the electric buzzsaw, it should be easy now. Open the door to the left, kill the banshee, then go to the west for some supplies, go back to the last corridor and open the door right in front of you to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 7: THE MAIN SECURITY ROOM

Go in the men's restroom to find some painkillers and open the door to the north. Check the last room to the right to find lot of painkillers, then the other one to find the floor map, open the single black door to enter the storage room, grab some 9mm handgun ammos, kill the enemy in the next storage roome, grab the shotgun shells and open the door. Go to the right, open the yellow door, go west then east, open the door and read the note next to the door. In order to open the main security room, you need to check an office and find a code. Open the door to the left, go to the left, open the black door and read another note. Now, check closely the room, write the code on the notepad (each number is the number of times you see the item in the room). You should find 321123, which is the code for the door leading to the main security room. Go back to the keypad, type the code and go in the main security room. In one of the cabinets, you'll find a machine gun. You'll also find lot of machine gun ammo. Open one of the two red doors, cross the corridor of worms, then open the door in front of you, go to the left, open the second to your right to find some painkillers (just in case you need to recover some health) otherwise keep moving forward. Go in the opened office to the right, kill the enemy in the bathroom, take some shotgun ammos, open the yellow door, cross the cafeteria, go west if you need some ammos for the shotgun and the machine gun and go east. Go downstairs, open the door and end the chapter.

CHAPTER 8: THE FLASHBACK

In the closets, you'll find some painkillers and shotgun shells. Notice the gramophone to the right, open the door in front of you (the other one is stuck for some reasosn), keep going north until you are forced to go to the left, check the closets for some goodies and carry on. Each time you'll enter a new room, check everywhere to find ammos and painkillers. You'll find on a chair next to an opened room a gramophone record. This item can be forgotten more than once since you will probably rush through this corridor in order to avoid the worms. Take it and go back to the gramophone. Use the record to trigger a cutscene. Hmm, it looks like you killed your wife and scared your daughter. So that would make sense about the message at the beginning. However, why did we see the wife outside, behind the gate, on our way to the next building? Was it just our imagination? Anyway, time to open that stuck door now and face a weird-looking boss. You're in some kind of room with v.. nope! Mouths! Yeah, that's it! Mouths spitting worms all around the room. You have to get rid of all those damn bloody mouths to beat this boss. It looks easy like ABC but the worms make this fight a bit tougher than it looks. Move constantly, use all the weapons you have to kill each of those mouths. It takes four bullets or two shotgun shells to kill one mouth (the mouth is dead when it turns black). Also, you can use the electric buzz-saw and it's highly recommended for the mouths that are not on the ceiling if you want to save some ammos. After this fight, a new way will be unlocked. You can go back and grab some ammos if you open the white door but there's no real point of doing this since you'll find some supplies in the next room. In the next room, go open the door in front of you, over the barricade. Open quickly the other door to the north, then go in the office to the left to get some painkillers and shotgun shells and open the door to the north.Open the next door at the end of the corridor, kill the enemies, then open the door in front of you, grab some stuff, open the door to the north then the other door in front of you. Banshees! Equip the electric buzz-saw and make your way through those creatures. Open the door to the north to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 9: THE HOLE IN THE WALL

It's not a Silent Hill reference, well it could be but I'm not quite sure. Anyway, there's some painkillers in the closet, right at the beginning, but those are kept by a creature. Go east, kill the banshee, grab some ammos here and there, then open the door to the north and the one to the west. Kill the enemy, go north, take the floor map on the desk and check the bathroom for more supplies. Go back to the previous room, go to your right, enter the next office to the right if you need some shotgun ammos, otherwise open the other door. Open the door to your left, kill the banshees, take some goodies, then go back and open the other door. Go east, open the door, examine the hole in the wall and go to the right. Get some painkillers in the closets, open the door, then check the closet to get the maintenance glove (5). Go back to the hole, now, use the glove to activate the switch and go west. Cross that ugly room as fast as you can, take the revolver (ah, my old love! Yes, yes, yes, I love revolvers), go east, kill the enemies, then grab the revolver ammos and open the door leading the stairs. Open the next door, go downstairs and open the door to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 10: THE TORN PHOTOGRAPH

According to the book found in the church, the last piece of the photo is here. Check every closet and room to find painkillers and ammos then open the door to the left. Kill the banshee, go north then east and carry on. Once you reach the room with the creepy laughs, take some painkillers and shotgun ammos then open the next door. There are dead corpses here and some of them can wake up. It's easy to find which ones will suddenly wake up. Aim at the corpse and, if the visor turns red, the corpse will wake up soon. Kill it before it has a chance to stand on its feet and make your way to the next door. There's also some 9mm ammos behind the desk. Go east, open the door, take the last piece of the photo on the floor and drop in the elevator (if you dare...). Press the button on the panel and end the chapter.

CHAPTER 11: THE GUARD TOWER

You should get the two last pieces of the photo, time to go back to the church now and complete the mysterious photo of the photo album (and I've just made a "photo" combo, woohoo best achievement ever! ). The three pieces combined make a family portrait with the woman killed, the young girl you saw in the elevator and the flashback and another person with the face scribbled. Could it be "us"? Also, there's a code: 103107. Now go back outside, open the other door, go up and type the code. Welcome to the guard tower. Looks like a party went well here too ha ha. Grab the sniper rifle to your right (the last weapon of the game), open the other door, go downstairs, open the door to reach the courtyard and open the next door. Drop in the elevator, press the button and end the chapter.

CHAPTER 12: THE CLEAVER'S RETURN

Remember that adorable fat whale with the syringe and the cleaver? He is back and he is greeting you at the beginning of the chapter. How adorable, let's show him the new toys we got since our first encounter. The best way to kill him is the shotgun. A few shots in his face and he will die horribly. You'll find some shells to the left if you need some ammos. Don't forget to move constantly around and keep your distances if you don't want to be stunned on the ground by his cleaver. Once you are victorious, open the door to the north from the elevator, grab the painkillers if you need to recover your health and open the next door. Room to the next corridor, then the next one, kill the banshees, then go in the office to the right to find some 9mm ammos in the bathroom, some shells next to the couch and some painkillers under the desk, go back and carry on. Grab the ammos for the sniper rifle on the wheelchair, go to the left, kill the banshees then check the offices next to the door leading to the stairs (unfortunately locked) to get some revolver ammos and some painkillers. Open the door to the north, carry on, kill the banshees, then open the door to the right, kill the zombies in this room, find some stuff and go in the patient ward. Ignore the crawlers, open the door, take the painkillers and open the door. More banshees to kill. Go west, grab the machine gun ammos, open the door, kill the two banshees and go open the door to the right to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 13: THE DOOR WITH NO HANDLE

You'll find some revolver ammos in the closet and a mysterious box with a note (6). Read the note and examine the box. You have to enter a code, well a specific word. Remember the hint written on the note. Check the other closets to find ammos and painkillers then open the yellow door. Run to the end of the hallway, check the door to the west that appears to have no handle. Examine it to get some numbers: 11-6-25-10. Now, try to find the word of four letters hidden in this code. Remember that 10 equals E so the last letter is obviously a "E". Remember that it could be random, true and it brought to us. Hmm, could it be... "FATE"? Try this word. Hey look, the box opened and there's a door handle inside. Take it and go back to the door with the code scratched into it. After the cutscene, take the floor map in the closet and carry on. Open the door to the left, then the one to the right, carry on, cross the lounge occupied by the worms, go in the women's restroom to get some painkillers and carry on. Take the revolver ammos in the closet, open the door, kill the banshees and carry on. Run to the end of the corridor, go to the right, kill the banshees and the worms, go in the room to the left to find some painkillers and open the door leading to the stairs. Go downstairs and open the door to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 14: THE WHEELCHAIR'S RETURN

Yes, he is back too and he is waiting for his rematch. For starters, grab some ammos and some painkillers and open the door to the north. And here goes the rematch. You know the score, don't you? But you know, it'll be really easy now that you have the sniper rifle. Just stay where you are, zoom in the closest you can and shoot the head (that's what we deserve when we show our back to people ). Zoom out, strafe to the left or to the right, depending of where he goes, zoom in and shoot the head. Repeat this technique a few times and he'll die. Open the next door, grab some goodies, kill some creatures, open the next door, grab the ammos on the radiator and carry on. Kill some banshees farther, open the door at the end of the hallway, then the one in front of you, check the clset for some ammos then go back and open the door to the right. Go in the first office to the left for some painkillers in the dressing room, then go east. Kill the creature, go to the right, take some painkillers and go forth. Go west, kill the banshees and open the door at the end of the skywalk to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 15: THE FIRST ENCOUNTER

Grab the floor map on the desk, some ammos and some painkillers in this room, carry on until you reach the top of the map and go east. Open the door to the right, kill the banshee, take some goodies and go forth. You'll encounter during a cutscene this strange person who kidnapped your wife in the courtyard. It looks like he knows us. But who is he? Read and take the note on the ground, grab some stuff and open the door leading to the stairs. It looks like we're almost at the end of the game, folks. Go downstairs, load your guns with the ammos on the floor and open the door to end this chapter.

CHAPTER 16: THE FINAL ENCOUNTER

By the look of the title, it's the end of the nightmare. The point of no return. You have to go forth and face that strange person now. He apparently has the answers to all our questions. Fight your way to this ultimate showdown. And that is the hardest part of the game since you'll find no ammo and no painkiller on your way so that's the real survival. Remember that if you die, you restart from the beginning. I said "on your way", that doesn't mean that, at the end, you're not going to get any painkillers and any ammos for having made this far. After the room with the flying bugs, grab some goodies and open the door. Time to face the strange man in this square room and put an end to this journey into madness. That boss is not that hard when you have the technique. One of his abilities is a psychic cage. And believe me, this one is really annoying and hurts a lot. Well, even his close attacks. However, if you shoot both of his hands (or his arms) before he violently puts you down, this grip will cease and he will take some damages. Otherwise, try to not be too close to him if you don't want to be punched in the face (trust, me, it hurts more than his other ability), move backwards and shoot him (especially his head) until he dies. I personally used the revolver since it's my most favorite weapon and the capacity of ammos is better than the shotgun but it's up to you. Watch the final cutscene. Congratulations, you completed "Dementium: The Ward".

Well, no bonus for you this time but it was a great experience and I really enjoyed this game from the beginning to the end. I'll certainly play through the sequel to "Dementium: The Ward" but we shall see in due time. For now, that concludes the walkthrough. So, it was your host Laian and I see you in the next walkthrough. Bye and take care, folks

Hello everyone, it's your host Laian with a new walkthrough. 2013 did end with a long walkthrough (probably the longest walkthrough I've ever made) and 2014 has begun so here we go for a new year full of walkthroughs, stupid jokes and references included.
