Hello everyone! Welcome to another one of my reviews. Today's review will be on the Game Boy Advance game; known as "Creatures". This game also has a Playstation 1 port exactly the same as this minus the cinema-graphics or cut scenes if you don't know what that means.

So, what are the "Creatures"? Well, the Creatures are a race of AI controlled human-like animals by the species name of "Norms". These Norms could be considered similar to Sims as they grow older, require feeding, even reproduce. It's up to you as the Shee's (goddess of Life if I remember rightly) fairy assistant, Scrubby to help the Norms become a dominant species once again.

We first talk about the Graphics, which are outstanding for a Game Boy Advance game, you'd expect pixels everywhere on your screen. But guess what, you'd be wrong, Creatures has very interesting models which, admittedly I cannot tell if they are 2D or 3D, but whatever they are, they are amazing models which come in various sizes, from trees to houses to blocks of cheese to even eggs. Simply outstanding graphics for such an outstanding game.

Sound is up next, there is a very special place in my heart for the sound of this game as not only is the music able to make me feel on the edge of my seat or laid back and relaxed, the Norms actually seem to have their own language, which is comprised of laughter, some speech (not English mind you, any words in English are in speech bubbles only) But still to hear the Norms conversing with you and its family make you feel like you have raised your own little bunch of virtual pets.

Addictiveness, I know I complain about that not being a word so many times, but this time, I'll let it slide because this game makes me want to come back to Vizzed every couple of days just to see how my Norms are doing, bear in mind that once the game is off, Norms "freeze". They do not age, they do not reproduce or die and so once you return to the game, they will be as you left them, which in my opinion is what makes this game extra special to me. With 3 giant worlds to explore, I can guarantee this is a game you don't want to miss out on.

The story of the Norms I will take from the Playstation 1 version of the game as I do not know if the two games have the same story or not. Basically, you start off with two Norms named Adam and Bertha (funny, not Eve?) after some catastrophic event has taken place in their homeland, killing most of their relatives. It is up to you to make the Norms a populated species once again without them dying out. Feed them, Love them, Praise them, and punish them if necessary. Do all you can to ensure you breed these lovely Creatures!

I have sort of covered the depth of the story, by mentioning that there are 3 worlds to explore in the game. But also as I had mentioned, the game is definitely one you do not want to miss. I highly recommend it.

Finally, the difficulty section. This can be tricky to rate as you have no direct control over the Norms themselves but you can command them to do things such as to eat, or follow you if need be. The hardest part of the game is keeping track of your Norms as you need a certain amount of Norms to unlock new worlds, for the life of me I do not remember how many this is, it could be 4, but do not take my word on that.

Overall, I hope you have enjoyed this review and seriously consider playing this game if you haven't already. I wish you the best of luck!
