For those of you who have played The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and met Fi, what did you think of her? When she first appeared, and your player, Link, had to follow her to get the Goddess Sword, she didn't seem annoying at all. Throughout the game, though, when she becomes your guide, she may get annoying. I'll admit, I've gotten annoyed and wished she stayed back in Skyloft and never joined the player. When I saw a walk-through on YouTube, though, I changed my mind. Fi having to die, and you having to be the one to end her life was shocking! What's sad is that right when she was getting to feel emotions - mainly, happiness - she had to be sealed away in the sword in an 'endless sleep'. I haven't gotten to that part, yet, and I dread it... Poor Fi! She has to be my favorite guide in any Zelda game. What did you guys think of her? I'll miss her... "Link. Link, hear me. My purpose was to obey the command of the goddess and lead you, the chosen hero of this land, on your quest. When I first awoke and began this task, I perceived it as merely serving my function as a servant to Her Grace. However, I have come to consider the information corresponding to our time together among the most precious data I have on record." *Link walks up a few steps, and Fi slowly floats down.* "I do not have the capability to fully understand the human spirit, Link... But now, at the end of my journey with you, as I prepare to sleep within the Master Sword forever, I experience a feeling I am unable to identify. I lack sufficient data to be sure of my conclusion, but I believe this feeling correlates closest to what your people call... happiness. Our partnership is at an end, and even as we speak, I feel my consciousness fading away. Before I enter the sleep that calls me to the sword, I wish to relay to you words that I recorded many times over the course of our journey. Many have said them to you thus far, but now I wish to say them for myself... Thank you, Master Link. May we meet again in another life..." *Dies.*

Funny how it seems when Link gets a guide, they are thought of as annoying. Think back to the little fairy in Ocarina of Time. People hated that little thing. I haven't had a chance to play Skyward Sword, but plenty of people have said Fi is annoying too. Link should just not have guides

We all seem to get that vibe at first with a Link guide. Annoying at first, but you seem to get attached with the character as the game goes on. Then you are stripped from the guide at the end or near the end. It's heart-breaking.

rcarter2 :

YESSS.

The game is fun the first time that you play through it, but
It requires a fair amount of patience because of the slow pace to play through it a second time. Hero Mode was a good idea, but they should have made it more friendly to second playthroughs but ductapping Fi's mouth, and NOT telling you "You got an amber relic" everytime you pick one up.

NintedoIcan't/won'tspellyourname:

Yeah, it was an ending with good character development, but the fact that she froze the game just to tell me something that I already figured out on my own 5x as often as Navi did made me not really want to see her again.

I do kinda like her personality as a character, but they should have made her more like C3PO, especially in the fact that C3PO was often around character's whose rashness irritated him.

Like Han Solo, or R2 D2.

Although Scrapper wasn't a bad idea.
Still, there could have been more.

I would have liked her a lot more if she was. . .
more memorable in the Story as well, but being a Hologram, all she can really do is talk. *Sigh* I guess that that's all she's good for.
I think that she may actually be a computer program.

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

I don't think Fi dies in that scene.  She doesn't make any obvious appearances (Zelda Wiki has several possible appearances, but none are all that likely), but none of the other Links have really needed her help, so that may be why.  And anyway, "sleep within the Master Sword forever" is almost identical to the line at the end of A Link to the Past, and that was definitely untrue: the Master Sword was used again in one of the Oracle games (whichever is played second) and A Link Between Worlds.  In both games, I think it may be that the characters think (or hope) the Master Sword will never be necessary again.
