Hello everyone and welcome to a new walkthrough. I was quite busy this month and I might be busy during December so I'm quite unsure about the next walkthrough. You know, But one thing is sure: I'm not gonna stop and I'll make the walkthrough of December. Anyway, I had to think about a short game in this situation. So we're going to come back to the legendary Gameboy and the black and white graphics. We're going to go back to a series I already played a long time ago with, this time, the episode that takes place before the episode released on Super Nes. Yes, I'm talking about the Metroid series. And then, I decided to play and make the walkthrough of Metroid 2. If you don't know this game, just forget about Phantom, Kraid, Ridley, the Space Pirates, Mother Brain... there's none. In this game, you will have to kill a good amount of metroids, including the queen metroid. I have to tell you, this game might be hard at some points and you might be lost since this place is an amazing maze. But you shall see that in due time. For starters, let's begin the mission.

You start your mission next to your ship, ship that will come in handy if you need to recover your health and get your missiles back. Go to the right (it's the only way to go right now), kill the enemies, go down, then go east. Kill more enemies, go down, then save your progress with the device to the east. Go west and get ready to face the first metroid you need to eradicate after a couple of enemies. Five missiles should do the trick. You'll be able to explore the depths of the palnet after this fight. You can recover your health and get your missiles back with the two devices above the metroid egg. Just go up, use the morph ball and use the devices. Now go back to the save point and go to the right now. You'll reach a new area after killing some enemies.

Down, you'll see a metroid egg. Some rocks are blocking the way. You need the bombs to clear the way. Go up, kill some enemies and enter the temple. You can get three upgrades in this area. Save your progress with the device, go down, blast the door with five missiles, shoot the ball held by the chozo statue and grab the first upgrade: the morph bombs (1). Use them to get the missile expansion underneath the chozo statue. Go back, go east, shoot the turret, go through the secret passageway, grab the first energy tank and carry on. Go down, blast the door with some missiles and get the ice beam. There is a bug in this room. If you come back in this room after getting the ice beam, it will still be here. Fear not, it's just a bug, you have the ice beam now. Go back, then go east, grab the three missile expansions in this room (including the one above your head at one point, use your morph bombs and a good timing to get it). There's a secret passageway to the east leading to the last upgrade: the spider ball (2). Unfortunately, you can't get it from here. Go back, go up and east. You're outside the temple and there's another metroid egg. Let's take care of that after grabbing the spider ball. Go east, then south and grab the spider ball. Press the down button when you're in morph ball position to activate this upgrade. Go back and take care of the metroid. From the egg, use the spider ball to reach the room where you'll find it. Same technique: five missiles will kill it. Now, you can go back to the temple, go up , get two missiles expansions and return to the pile of rocks that blocked the way. Make your progress until you find another metroid egg. Go east, fight a metroid, then go west. Go down, fight two other metroids (one to the left and another one to the right). This should make the level lower so you'll be able to carry on. Remember where the level of goo was? Go back there and make some progress. Down, you'll see another metroid egg. Go west, then down, then up, jump over the creatures and get rid of the metroid with some missiles. Go west, then in the temple, save your progress and proceed to the next room. Beware of the turret, go to the next room (there's another save point), leave the temple, go up using the spider ball, break the rock with a bomb and get ready to face in the next room another metroid. There's a secret passageway in this room. Remember the room with the chozo statue? Here, it's inverted but that doesn't change the rule. Break the block below with a bomb, then use your bombs to go in the passageway. You'll see a missile expansion that you can't unfortunately get in this situation. You'll have to come back later. Go down, then go east, go down and get the missile expansions in the next room. Carry on, go down and grab the missile expansion. You'll see an energy tank and another missile expansion but you can't get these right now. Go back up, destroy the pile of white blocks to the east (where there's a lot of columns made of white blocks, go in the passageway, then go down, open the door with some missiles and get the new upgrade from the chozo statue: the high jump boots (3). I think I don't have to explain what this item does, it seems obvious. There's a secret in this room. Same thing: destroy the specific block, use the bombs to go in the passageway and carry on. You'll be able to get the energy tank and the other missile expansion.

Go back outside, go up, fall down, open the door with your missiles, shoot the orb and... wait it's an enemy! Do not try to blast this one with missiles or your beam, this enemy is really smart and will turn into a ball if you do so. Use your bombs to get rid of him, roll in order to avoid his shots and his jumps and grab your reward: an upgrade for your morph ball. You can now jump while you're in morph ball position. Time to get the teasing missile expansion you couldn't get earlier, don't you think so? Go back to the roof, then go east, fall down and go in the small passageway to the left to get it. Now, go back to the roof, locate a flying bug, freeze this poor creature and repeat the same method with the others until you reach the upper platform. Caution: this is tricky, timing is required and accuracy as well because those b- er sorry those silly bugs, once frozen, will disappear and you will have to do all of that from the beginning, which means go to another screen and go back. Trust me, it might become tedious. And what is your reward? A metroid to fight, weeeeeeeeeee! Use the hidden health recovery (use a bomb to destroy the block above) to regain your health and go back to the temple.Go back where you fought the metroid inside the temple, go down, then into the secret passageway to the west, kill the creature, blast the door and grab the wave beam. Now go outside the temple, exactly to the western part and go either up if you missed the metroid inside the small cave (this is the cheap way, just use the spider ball on the top wall and roll to the cave above the flying bugs or down to carry on your progress.

Another metroid egg, you will discover a bit farther (and why am I speaking like Master Yoda? I don't know ). Go to the right and get ready to fight the metroid. This one is tougher than the ones you fought before, it takes ten missiles to kill this one. After this fight, go to the left, fight another metroid and carry on. Another metroid egg. Go to the left, fight another metroid and recover your health with the device in the next room. Go back to the metroid egg and go east this time. Get rid of the metroid and go back in front of the temple. Go underwater now, get the missile expansion above your head in the next room, then gon down and face a metroid. Go up now, then to the left, go underneath the chozo statue, break the balls with some bombs and use your beam to get rid of the last one andget the varia suit (4). The death of the last metroid should have lowered the level of the deadly goo so you can explore the next part of the planet. And if you don't remember where you have to go, well go throught the temple, jump over the creatures to the east and go down. After the metroid egg, you have to go down, then east. Go up, then take the second way to the right. Kill the enemies, use the missile charge hidden in the pool of sand in the next room if necessary (5). Go on the temple roof, find the entrance hidden by the sand and grab the space jump. Go back outside, use the new upgrade to reach the next part of the temple to the east, ignore the hole and carry on. Locate the passageway blocked by a rock, go in grab the energy tank and the missile expansion. Go back outside, go down and face a metroid underneath the wall of sand. Now into the hole on the roof, find the missile expansion hidden in the sand, save your progress and go down avoid the laser beams, go west, kill the creatures, blast the door and get the spazer. Go back, use the space jump to go up and find a passageway to the east. Fight the metroid, go up, grab the missile expansion and go down. Go west, fight the metroid, carry on, blast the door and collect the plasma beam. Go back and go to the right now. Grab the missile expansion in the "floating square", then use the space jump to go up, avoid the laser beams, destroy the highest block of the wall with the plasma beam, go in the passageway, fight the metroid and get the energy tank in the next room.

Now take the first way to the right (the way you passed by while you were going up), save your progress, go down, go to the left and kill a metroid. Now, go to the right and fight another metroid. Time to go down. Break the blocks, go up, kill the two metroids (the second one is a bit hard t ohit though but, if you manage to stuck him in the small opening, you should be able to hit him with missiles), go back to the previous room and go east. Go down, fight the metroid, use the energy charge and go west to fight the next metroid. This will lower the level of the deadly goo. Make your progress until you face another metroid. Now it's time to go back the eastern part and go deeper... or not. Actually, in the next area, you have to get rid of two metroids. One is to the left, the other one is to the right. You'll also find an energy charge to the left and a missile charge to the right. Now, go back to the west and go down. When you face two rocks blocking the way, use the missiles to get rid of these and carry on. A metroid will greet you. Kill him with the missiles and carry on. In front of the temple, go underwater, grab the missile expansion and go in the temple. Use the save point, carry on, go west and face another metroid. This one is faster and tougher than the others you fought. But, like his brothers and sisters, he likes missiles. A good amount of missiles! After this fight, go back use the space jump to go up and take the second to the left. Another metroid will greet you in its lair. Now go on the roof of the temple with the space jump then use the space jump to reach the top right platform. You'll see an energy tank underneath a metroid egg. We'll grab that later. We have two more metroids to kill and they are located to the east. There's also a missile expansion to get but you will have to throw a bomb at a block on the platform to get this. You can use the energy charge hidden the western wall in the arena of the metroid located above the one to the east. After taking care of those two metroids, it's time to check the temple in order to get the goodies and fight the last metroid of this area. Go back to the west, use the space jump and take the first to the east. Go up, open each door with some missiles and grab the plasma beam, the spazer, the wave beam and the ice beam. Don't ask me why they are here whereas you got them earlier, I don't know and i don't want to know honestly what's up in the developers' mind. Anyway, we have three more things to get and a metroid to kill before carrying on the exploration. Go in the hole on the roof and here we go for the maze of doom in the dark. You'll find some missiles and the energy tank. Yes, those are your rewards. That's better than nothing but this part is really tedious, seriously. I was probably lucky, it took me five minutes to get both of the items the first time. Now time to face the last metroid and get the new upgrade. From the roof, use the spider ball on the eastern wall of the temple until you find a rock to blow up. Go in the passageway, fight the last metroid of the area, go up, blow up the rock and go get the screw attack (6).

Time to go deeper. In the next area, you will have to fight two metroids. There's no items to find. Carry on until you reach a branching path. Go up and you'll find the two metroids. First, you will fight the casual metroid, then another kind of metroid. This one is a tank, I'm not kidding. You need a lot of missiles to get rid of the last one. Once the two metroids are dead, go back and go down. Further you'll see a save point. Go up, then to the west to face a metroid. Go east, make the gap, go up, save your progress and go east to face another metroid. The last metroid is in a room located to the south-west. Now you can proceed to the last area of the game. Go up, use the screw attack to reach a room in the temple with a missile charge and an energy charge. This room is located to the north-east. Then, use the spider ball to reach the room next to the one you came from. Go up and grab the ice beam. You know what is next, huh? By the look of the situation here, you're getting close to the final boss. Use the spider ball and enter the temple. The entrance is located to the north-west. Go up, notice the egg and face the first metroid. You know that ice is the weakness of metroids. Use your ice beam to stun him and spam the missiles while he is frozen. After a couple of shots, it will be dead. Yes, that's what you're going to do with the others and let me tell you, they are not gonna let you see the queen metroid so easily. Fear not, there's a total of 7 metroids and each one takes 5-10 missiles to be killed. After taking care of these, the screen will shake. I suggest you to come back to the energy charge and the missile charge, refill your health and your ammos and go back to the queen metroid's lair. Go down and face the final boss. She loves missiles, she is really tough, she will bite you, she will throw some acid balls at you and this fight will probably take a while. This is how I describe the final boss fight. The technique is to use the screw attack in order to destroy the acid balls, land immediately on the floor, face the queen metroid and shoot the missiles while she's trying to bite you. Let her give you some bites, you'll lose some health okay but this will make the fight quicker. You need a good amount of missiles to beat her, I tell you. At the end of the fight, I had 51 missiles left, I'm not kidding. Well, don't worry, all you have to do after this fight is go to the west, meet the baby metroid, go up, then to the right with the spider ball or the screw attack and go in the spaceship to end the mission. Congratulations, you beat Metroid 2: Return of Samus.

Ok, guess what? It's bonus time. I have nothing else to offer you as a bonus but the time I spent to beat the game.

Yes, I'm a slowpoke. Actually, I'm really bad at speedruns, that's why I'm the raider of the secrets secretly secret in videogames. I look everywhere and the secrets show their face. Anyway, I see you in the next walkthrough. Bye bye

Yes, I'm a slowpoke. Actually, I'm really bad at speedruns, that's why I'm the raider of the secrets secretly secret in videogames. I look everywhere and the secrets show their face. Anyway, I see you in the next walkthrough. Bye bye

ANGRY VIDEO GAME NERD: great walk through anyway am here to tell the full story of the game METROID 2 return of SAMUS: a week after the fall of the space Pirates defences and death of their leader Riley the space Pirates was no longer a threat for now, SAMUS then left GFP(galactic federation police) and all was at peace, meanwhile on the meeting of the Galactic federation the leaders was coming up of a idea on how to prevent another attack of the space pirates so one of the leader came up with an idea that they should destroy their alias so after careful thinking they finally decide to choose the METROID and they decide to complete wipe them out of the universe so that the SP(space pirates) will never use such dangerous creature for planet domination again so they track them down to their home world a unnamed planet called SR388 (wait if it unnamed then why? It is called SR388) so they begin to send GFP to go and destroy the METROID but non could so there decide to bring SAMUS to do it, and that why the game is called the return of SAMUS (which mean SAMUS return to the GFP again) and that where the game begin and this has been AVGN saying good day with AVGN  smile
