So yeah, back from the hospital. Anyways I'm glad Jowee could keep you guys waiting with the Mewtwo post, today I'll be interviewing the pokemon Torkoal. Cause I felt like it. Look dudes you could just walk out if you don't care, but I'm doing this review on a highly underrated pokemon whether you guys like or not!

First off, Torkoal is a fire and rock turtle. It learns LOTS of good moves and is often put low do to one reason we will get to later. They can also be found in X and Y on route 18, so if you got Chespin of Froakie and Bulbasaur or Squirtle you could always use this guy as a good defensive wall. White smoke is one of it's abilities, which prevents stats from being lowered. As if the enemy trainers didn't waste enough time with screech and growl or whatever, Torkoal ain't even having that crap. It's hidden ability, shell armor, can't be obtained in the game so far, but if it could it would prevent critical hits! A bit of additional info, half of the Torkoal you will find will be holding charcoal, increasing firepower (literally). HP 70: Nothing special, but this is made up for in Defense
Attack 85: Decent, but you don't exactly have all-star physical moves
Defense... HOLY CRAP 140!: Now THAT'S why it has sucky HP...
Sp Attack 85: Same as Attack
Sp Defense 70: We found it's weakness... HYDRO PUMP
Speed... uh, you don't want to know... 20 I personally don't really care. So it always goes last, get over it. It's a TURTLE.

It can know some good moves from the start, but we all want to know what happens as it grows right?
Lvl. 4 Smog: 30 damage, 70 accuracy. The upside is that it usually poisons it's target.
Lvl. 7 Withdraw: Raises defense? IT NEEDS MORE DEFENSE???
Lvl. 12 Curse: This pokemon isn't a ghost type, so he just cusses the enemy out and it lowers speed but raises Attack and Defense.
Lvl. 17 Fire Spin: 35x1.5 damage, 85 accuracy. For 4-5 turns it's as if the target is burnt.
Lvl. 20 Smokescreen: Aww yeah! Lowers accuracy meaning Hydro Pump won't get us today!
Lvl. 23 Rapid Spin: A sad, sad 20 damage. It get's rid of binding moves, leech seed, and switch traps like spikes, so it has SOMETHING going for it.
Lvl. 28 Flamethrower: FLAMETHROWER? AT LEVEL 28!? I luv you. 90x1.5 damage, 100 accuracy, may burn the target.
Lvl. 33 Body Slam: Does 85 damage and 100 accuracy, will paralyze with the sheer force of it's weight.
Lvl. 36 Protect: Will do great against Future Sight, Solar Beam, Hyper Beam and Giga Blast, the 3 fire water and grass final moves, and Bide. Keep it if you need help in those situations or just need salvation from Hydro Pump.
Lvl. 39 Lava Plume: Not as good as Flamethrower... 80x1.5 damage and 100 accuracy, will attack everything around you and can burn opponents easier than Flamethrower.
Lvl. 44 Iron Defense: The effect of 2 withdraws in one! Who cares? XD
Lvl. 49 Amnesia: Same effect as Iron Defense but for Sp Defense, may help a bit anyways...
Lvl. 52... Flail?: The less HP you have the more damage done. May sound like Reversal, but think of it this way... it's one of the only 3 moves Magikarp learns .
Lvl. 55 Heat Wave: Aww yeah! Heat Wave! Does 5 more damage than Flamethrower with 90 accuracy, and can attack 2-3 members of the enemy team at once! I luv chu 2 Heat Wave...
Lvl. 60 Inferno: 100x1.5 damage but only 50 accuracy... the upside to this? Everything it hits is burned for sure.
Lvl. 65 Shell Smash: A game changer right here, lowers Defense and Sp Defense 1 stage, but raises Attack, Sp Attack, and Speed 2 stages! You could make it work a bit... but again... BEWARE HYDRO PUMP!

So that's about it... but what about TM's?
TM71 Stone Edge: 100x1.5 damage, 80 accuracy. High critical hit rate.
TM74 Gyro Ball: The slower you are, which is very, the higher this steel move does!
TM38 Fire Blast: 110 damage and 85 accuracy, can burn the target.?
TM64 Explosion: Ok I'm sorry Torkoal, but you make a brilliant Explosion candidate! With the high Defense or if you barely survive the aforementioned Hydro Pump you can go out with a bang! BOOYAH! 250 freaking damage to everything around you!

Ok now apparently it would have Gyro Ball and Explosion, and I actually prefer Flamethrower. Now the last move ot would know is from WAAAY back, smokescreen. Why not? The foe won't be able to hit your tank, making it MORE lethal. For that reason, carry bright powder, an item lowering your foes accuracy! I tend to recommend stuff involving accuracy... whatever. 250 EV's will go into Defense, and Attack and Sp Attack will each get 125. The remaining 10 will go into Sp Defense or HP, or maybe 5 for each... I don't really get EV's but if YOU care you always have THIS reference.

And of course the picture.

I love Torkoal, they're actually one of my favourite fire-type Pokémon. Fire Spin, Flamethrower, Iron Defense, Body Slam... Heck, I even appreciate the Smog it starts with. Poison damage is great, even though Poison has never been a brilliant type.
