Yeah I think eidetic brings up a good point, you don't really need money to be a happy person, but personally I would feel more secure and happy if I had enough money to pay off what is necessary and not be in extreme debt. I am not saying I want to be filthy rich, but to have enough money would make me feel secure.

Those that work everyday and not to be rude or anything, but I am pretty sure it is proven that people in Japan are some of the most un happy people, they are always working 24/7, I watched a program on it believe it or not, they are always at work and they are constantly stressed out and they don;t have time for family or relaxing and being happy because they are so dedicated to working.

Just think of the Olympics for instance, the gymnasts in Japan start at a really young age, maybe 6 or 7 or so and they spend all their time training to be a gymnast, and they will see their family very few and far between for many years. They are always training and always working which leads to stress and causes them to be un happy.

Sorry for straying off topic here, but yes I think to have enough money to be financially secure can make a person happy or satisfied with themselves. Not to say you can't be happy being homeless either...

Money can't buy you happiness. You are correct by saying we should put our faith in Christ (God) instead of money. Money can cause someone to be evil as greed and power sets in. The thing is we need money to survive without you can't buy anything. So having some money to get needs is okay. The problem becomes when people start putting their trust in money instead of God and it consumes them. What happens is greed sets in so the people start wanting more, then they start doing bad things to get the money.

I can answer for certain as to whether or not I can be happy with no money at all, as I have experience to back my answer.

The time that I refer to as the happiest time of my life happened while I was broke and homeless. Yes, I was homeless and extremely happy. I had no money, and no home, I slept on hard floors wherever someone would let me, I had no television, no games, no computer, no bed, and no books, but I don't hesitate to say that those were the happiest times of my life. It's amazing what being in love can do. Having a few good friends also helped a lot.

So yes, you can be happy with no money at all.

A person can be happy if something makes them happy, with or without money. This likely applying for most, if not all people, I could be happy without it.

If you like having no money, then you can be happy like that. Any person who'd prefer a free, stray life over living inside the restrictions of society and stuff could quite easily prove my theory correct.

Actually in my opinion money can buy you happiness depending on your personal views and preferences. As for the question of will you ever be happy with no money?, in my opinion no I would never be happy with no money. Money is what makes the world go round, money is what you exchange for a good or service without money I wouldn't be sitting here in my home, on my laptop posting this reply without money I couldn't pay the utilities or other major bills, and what happens when you don't pay your bills?, you get put on on the street and with no money your broke you can't buy food or anying for that matter SO i'd say I will NEVER be happy with no money.

Having gone through the trials and tribulations of being broke as a joke, I can say that while money may not be able to buy happiness, a lack of money only buys insecurity, frustration, and hopelessness.

I'm still not rich. Far from it. I don't even think I can call myself middle class yet. But with every dollar I'm able to save, I'm just a little bit happier.

Also, I'd like to post this article: http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-ways-money-actually-can-buy-happiness/

Having money problems has caused me a great amount of stress recently so in that sense, I feel more happy when I have my money business sorted out. But I do agree that having a ridiculous amount of money doesn't make you any more happy than you are now, but that would probably depend on the personality and experiences of that individual? I'm used to living humbly so perhaps someone who's used to spending a lot would be unhappy if that standard was taken away. Plenty of the activities that make me happy require no money whatsoever - A walk in a park with a good friend, helping my brother move in into a new house, playing with my cat, borrowing a great book from the library... Of course it's nice to buy a new video game once in a while, because playing them makes me happy. But on the other hand, if I had more money than I needed that would make me somewhat uneasy.

I've been poor my entire life and I'm not happy at all. The adage means that money can't buy you love, time with your family, and etc, But being able to do what you want and to be able to have nice things makes your life much happier.

Pleasure is not happiness. Money can buy the needs like food, water, shelter, even social interaction. Having all of those things, even in excess, does not make a person happy. It might make them feel good, but "feeling good" is not happiness.
