THIS IS THE ONE FOR THE 3DS. This is a review I wrote a while ago,so it may sound different. ( But it does have to do with the wii u one too )
Lego City Undercover the Chase Begins Game Review by
Barathemos
For the 3DS ( Not the Wii U , it is a waste of money )
First of all I would like to know what you think of this
game. Like, do you have it? Do you like it? What would you give it? Have you completed
the game yet? How many cars, discuses, red brick pieces do you have? How long have you played it for? I want to know more about what you think of
the game and what you have done in the game.
Overall: 9.6
This is a great game. It has all of the good parts of a
game. It has parts that most games don’t have. But there are some parts that
are really annoying. First is the part in the missions where someone is stuck
somewhere and you have to save them. Now I will have you know that these
missions are about 2 to 5 minutes long so this is what you hear. “ Help! Help! Help! Help!.......” You go around a corner so you cannot hear
them anymore. Then you come back into range. “Help! Help! Help! Help! Help!
Help! Help! Help!” Then you get them. And they stop. Them doing that annoying
sound makes it so you want to complete the mission fast to get them to shut up.
That is what I do. But then you make a mistake and you fall to the bottom so
you have to go through all of the yelling of “Help!” Again. It really does kill
you to have to keep hearing it over and over and over and over again. Second, this game is awesome because it is
not just a mission game where you steal cars and save people and take down a
bunch of enemies. No, it Is also a giant sandbox. You get to go to a bunch of
different worlds, or sections, in Lego city and other sections in the game. You can unlock some other disguises that you
can wear, and you can unlock and by a lot of cars that you will want to drive
around Lego city in. This will be fun for about 1 hour at a time and about 50
hours total. So you will play the game quite a lot. Other than that there are
the missions. These missions are made for you to stop a main super Villon from
doing something. ( I won’t give it away as I don’t want to spoil it for you )
These missions start out easy and get harder as you progress throughout the
game. That is good so you are slowly climbing instead of going 90. This game is one that will have you playing from
the beginning of the story mode to the end, with some in-between and after!
Graphics: 8
The graphics for this game are OK. Well, I have to say that
there are a lot of games that have better graphics then this one. But I have to
give this game an 8 for the graphics section because it is a game with Lego
people running around, or driving, trying to have fun and stop crime. There is
another good thing with the graphics for this game. That is the 3D on the game.
As it says in the intro, it is not the Wii U version, but it is the 3DS
version. The 3D is great because it just improves the whole gameplay and makes
the game a whole lot more fun! You get to see the little Lego people and cars
pop out through the screen and see the background take a shift backwards. If
you were to take a look at some of the other games for the 3DS, you will see
that only a few of them have the graphics that this game has! You see, it is
not too easy to make the background to look like it fits the game, and look
good, and it is also hard to get the people to be shaped with Legos! Also,
every other car, building, bridge, they are all also Legos. So think of how
much effort the designers and writers had to spend to get everything to get it
to be like it fits. Also, the word is HUGE, so try doing that for a lot more
coding. This game must have taken forever. Overall, the graphics are not as
good as some 3DS games, but it is at the top, that is why I gave it an 8.
Sound: 7
The sound for this game sure had its high points, a quite a
few low ones. One of the high points is a few of the car’s music when you get
into them. I think there are about 5 out of about 10 different car themes that
are good. The other 5, only 4 of those songs are OK, the other one is just bad.
And can you guess which one had the worst music???? You guessed it! The
Oldster, Old country music that just doesn’t work with the whole feel of the
game. The game is a really high paced game that has excitement at every corner,
but when you are in this? It makes me just want to fall asleep. The best one?
Well, that would go to the rock music that plays when you get into a car. ( The music is different for every car EXCEPT
for the oldster, it is the only one that has its own music ) This rock music is
not the new, bad rock music, no; it is the good a few years ago rock music.
That was before the demise of rock. So, I have named 9 Good to OK songs and
only 1 bad one, than why did you give it a 7? Well, because of what I talked
about in the intro to this review. The people yelling help annoys me to the
point where I want to punch something and where I want to jump of the place I
am, hop in a car and drive away like, “ I don’t care about you! You just annoy
me!” That IS what I do. I love to do that because then they are stuck up there
until someone, has to be me, comes back to help them. But guess what! They
don’t learn their lesion so you have to go back through all of that torture of
the cry of the Help. The sound for this game was good, a D ranking. I gave it
this because there is a lot of awesome music, some not so awesome music, and
the cry of the help. I wish the cry of the help would have never happened! So, I give a 7.
Addictiveness: 6
Hm, to get the right words to say about this took me quite a
while. But what I have to say is that this game is slightly addicting. The game
is AWESOME, you get to have fun driving through town and you run over stuff, go
in people’s back yards, and drive in mines and over ramps. My favorite thing to
do it to just cause mayhem in the city. I do this by driving off of a ramp into
traffic, I smash a couple cars and push one, I then push that car off of a
cliff. But you can only do this for so
long. That is why I gave it a 6. You can play the mission for about, like 15
hours? , and then you can play the sandbox, which I am at now, for around 50
more hours. But once you have completed your game and are tired of the sandbox,
you can go to the second play file and do it all over! My first time doing
sandbox, I played on it for about 3 hours. On the second time, 3 hours, the
third time 5 hours. If you look at the amount of time that I played it for, it
is obviously very addicting. I have an average play time of 1 hour and 18
minutes for the game! I just play it for so long at a time! I like to play the game, but it does get
boring after about 50 hours of sandbox, around 65 hours of normal play time so
I give it a OK score. It is not that bad, but it is not too good. Once you play
the game for the first time, you will want to keep going, but when you play for
the 100th time, you want to just stop the game and go play something
else. But you will go back to it in a few days and play again. That is why I
give it the fair rating of a 6.
Story: 8
Spoiler alert! There are some minor spoilers in this section
so if you don’t want part of the game spoiled, don’t read the section on story.
The story for this game is a good one. You are a police man who
is trying to chase down a criminal before he uses his ‘Master Plan’ which is
not reviled until the end of the game. You have to go about saving people that he
has trapped and you have to battle his minions. The final battle is just you,
him, and a bunch of robbers. Spoiler Over Alright, so I
can’t say that the story is in any way, bad. The story is one that is fun and
will have you wanting to keep playing the game till it is done! The main thing
that is not as good about the story is how annoying it is. One of the Missions,
robbers, or Minions, try to push you off of a ledge while you are trying to
save someone. This is annoying because you don’t know they are doing it the
first time so they push you to the ground the first time, but then you know.
The second time, which takes you forever to get back up, you know what they are
doing, but you don’t know how to get passed them. It takes a few tried to do it
right. The story is a fun one that will get you playing the whole time! But in
parts of it, it gets really hard so you will get mad and go to sandbox instead
of doing the mission. The mission is
fun, but hard/bad at times so that it why I give it an 8.
Depth: 10
This game is HUGE!!!! There is a whole lot to do in the
game. First, there is the story which is quite long. ( Look
above in the story section for all the details ) Second, there is a HUGE
sandbox which you can play in! It consists of 6 places where you can visit,
these places are quite big, and you can drive around and collect studs and
bricks, and just drive around and have fun! You can do whatever you want to do
in the sandbox! ( That the game will allow you to do ) Third, there are all of
the red brick items that you have to collect the red bricks for and then buy
the item, which means you will have to collect a whole lot of studs. There are
also things that you have to build with bricks, which you collect while you run
over stuff in your car. J
Fourth, you will have to go all over the map, even it hidden areas to do the
achievement with the right disguise to get a medal. There are a whole lot of
these because there are multiple ones for each disguise in each area!
Basically, this game is huge and it is a super fun and big game to play!
Difficulty: 5
This game is mostly easy. When you are on missions, they are
mostly a bit easy, but some are hard, it helps to balance out the
difficulty. This game overall is not too
difficult. It just takes time to get all
of the medals, postcards, cars, disguises, ext. but it is not hard. Once you
unlock the stud multiplier in the red brick shop, buy it. It will help you get
more studs and will help you buy the things you want to, or need to, faster.
The game is slightly difficult in the beginning but gets easier as you go along
and get used to it. But then it gets hard in the last couple of missions. Overall, the game is not too hard and that is
why I gave it a 5 in this area. Remember, if the difficulty is in the middle,
it is the best!
Overall this is a great game that has great attributes that
help the game succeed in the selling and satisfaction of the fans playing it.
The game had a great game play that is addicting and it has a great depth added
to that. Those are reasons why I game Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins a
9.6 overall. I would recommend this game and I hope you enjoyed the review!
