Hi, I am a bit late to post here because I have already been a member for three or four days and I have done quite some posting. but here it goes.

The first thing you should know about me is that I love sports, I love every single sport from Football to Horse Racing, but my favorite sport of them all has to be Baseball in which I am an avid Mets fan. I am also in college and I am going after a major in Sport Management because one day I would love to be the manager of an MLB team. I also own five shares of Manchester United, I worked at the MLB All Star Game this year and I plan at volunteering at the Super Bowl when it comes to New Jersey.

In addition to my shares at MU, I also own small amounts of stock in two small companies.

I also love to write!!! I had published my first book last year on Amazon, but it's a very small book. I also worked on a few small blogs and websites, and I have wrote dozens of articles that have been published in various newspapers.

Well, it was great to meet you guys, and I hope I can make some friends.

By your description, I thought you were much older than 19! I'm quite jealous, I've always wanted to try horse racing. Haha! Is your book about sports as well?

I'm sure you'll meet plenty of interesting people here, and most likely make new friends as well! Oh, I also put this in every welcome thread as well; please don't plagiarize! I'm sure you won't, but it's for good measure.

If you have any questions about the site, you can always ask the staff. They're the ones with two lines, one above and one below, on their usernames. If you make question threads instead, I'll probably come across it one way or another.

I'm kind of surprised. I think this is the first time I've seen a descriptive welcome thread without mention of any retro games here.

Mistress : Thanks for the welcome. No the book is not about sports, I know a lot about sports, but I am not that good at writing about them.

I had never actually tried horse racing, but my High School, located right in the middle of New York City had a small farm and an agriculture program. We had a few horses and a horse club, and one of my teachers that was new for my senior year loved horses. Ever since I started going to that school, I began following a bunch of Horse racing related activities, and I even had the opportunity to go to the Belmont Stakes a couple of years ago.

Because I am so new, I have not really had a chance to play any of the games. I came here because of Pokémon and I played for a few minutes, but ever since I first joined, I had been more interested in the forums than the games.

I think you will be an excellent addition to the active members in our forum. 

Also, I noticed that you said that you haven't had a chance to play the games very much. When you do, I think it would be interesting to read a game review that is submitted by a published author. Keep in mind that other than donating dollars to the site, reviewing games is the quickest way to earn Viz. Normal Viz that is earned by posting is actually quadrupled in the game review forum. Have any of you heard of this guy named Steven Slevin? This has to do with me because I have done extensive research on this guy and I feel really bad for this guy.

Stephen Slevin was a  former prisoner of Dona Anna County Detention Center and he was awarded $15.5 Million after filing a federal lawsuit against the center for inhumane treatment during his 22 months in solitary confinement at the center.

Those 22 months had been hell for Slevin, originally from Virginia, who constantly went through cruel forms of torture during his time at the center. At one point, Slevin was so desperate of medical attention, that he was forced to extract a painful tooth on his own.

This is just crazy, I had to spend about three months earlier in the year looking up on him and some of the stuff I found is terrible.

That isn't the only nightmare to fall upon Slevin, nearly two years without taking a shower caused fungus to grow on his skin, bedsores covered his body, and toenails grew so long that it was painful to walk. What makes things even worse is the fact that Slevin was thrown in solitary confinement without even receiving a hearing or seeing a judge.

He is getting a lot of money, but still, I am pretty sure that no amount of money can make up for what he had to go through. Sorry for posting this, but stories like this, are some of the things that I am most serious about.

Woah, you just came here, and you are already competing in the TDV. That is quite impressive.

Barathemos : I know, two days ago I was the leader for the Yellow Jersey for most of the day, but then somebody took over with about two hours to go. If I had won, I would have still been a newbie, and some people said they did not know of any newbies winning a jersey. Then guess what happens, the next day, which was yesterday, I type and type for four and a half hours straight and I finish the day with the red one, during my last day as a newbie.

   Trust me late doesn't matter. I've been on vizzed for 2 or 3 years and I just had a newbie post yesterday.     Aside from that have fun at vizzed! It's an amazing site!

noak01 : Wow, three years and only five posts? Have you been here mostly for the games? Stuff like that happens all the time to me, I find a great forum, make a few posts and forget about it for years, but this site is different for me.

This is quite late, but welcome!!! I think you're fitting in just fine here so far, and I hope you're enjoying yourself! You seem to have a pretty good idea of how the site works and all, but if you do ever have a question feel free to ask!!!

mrfe : Thanks a lot for the welcome. I do understand a lot about this site, but the only thing I don't understand is why the site had been down so many times over the past couple of days. Just yesterday night, I could not get on two separate times and I was very disappointed because I could have posted a lot more.

zanderlex : I believe that was due to site strain, or perhaps David was doing a bit of work that caused the site to go down. I know there was scheduled maintenance in the morning a couple days ago, so perhaps David was doing a bit of touch-up work or something. Also, with the TdV here, there's a lot of extra strain on the server.

I've found that the site tends to go down around 1-2 times per day, for just a couple minutes each time. I dunno why exactly though.

mrfe : Last night when the site was down, I tried to do some research, and I found a really cool website.

It told me whether the site was down or not, and it even told me how long the site was down for. I closed this site but I kept that one open and when it said Vizzed was back up, I came back on. The first one was for about 50 minutes though. I didn't actually know that it was for so long because I spent so much time typing my long post, that I had no reason to refresh the page, so I was still typing in the bar while the site was down, but once I refreshed, I could not get back on.
