I stated elsewhere(don't feel like quoting what I said then but I'll do my best to summarize) that cartoons can be divided into 2 categories. Those with a story and those that don't. Typically those that don't have a story are generally full of immature silliness that is meant for kids who have the attention span of 5 seconds(which is practically every show lately). Meaning to those who are older, cartoons today generally SUCK when compared to cartoons of ages past(especially those that fall into the category in question. I mean Pinky and the Brain is better than 99% of the cartoons on today(theme song alone blows em out of the water)).

The other category are cartoons that have a story or a plot that the season revolves around. An example of this would be the 2003-2006 Teen Titans. Many of the show's episodes were adaptations from the comics and the most memorable season was season 4 or the Trials of Trigon. Shows that have a story to tell are generally more thought out and far more appealing to older viewers. Additional examples would be Avatar: Last Airbender(including its sequel Legend of Korra), Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Anime(be it Japanese or French(like Code Lyoko for example, which was on CN years ago)).

I haven't seen television in two years. I was already done with it. The last time I saw it, there was nothing interesting, and the cartoons that were on were pretty bad in my opinion. I can't help but feel that cartoons nowadays are not good compare to the older ones.

I remember when silly cartoons were used to teach kids certain values. As strange as it sounds, KND was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and I found a lot of references to real world situations to be very enlightening.
