Money Vs Quality Vs Grade.
With "Coin-Op" gone. Why do developers go back to old tricks?

I recently got through and finished "Metal Gear Solid 3".
By now it is considered old. (Had to wait for ages to play this game. Too many people spoiling stuff for me to even watch a movie in peace. And that's Offline.)

Back to the topic at hand.

Why are developers considering "all on-line all the time"?
Why are so many games only FOUR Hours long?
Why do so many classic arcade games have no physical disk release?

Back in the early days (Famicom and N.E.S. years) Developers made games with cheap difficulty and limited lives and continues to 3 or 7.
Why?
They wanted cash for the coin-ops. Obviously.
Later.
When Castlevania and Megaman and other games that could be completed got to be more in demand? The Console game designs eventually bowed to meet the Demand.

In the Playstation 1 Years?
Demo Disks and Professional Reviews were made a standard staple of any game that wanted to get attention or profit. The individual consumer had more choices.

In the X-Box Years?
There were so many good games that they were getting "Clones and Knock-Offs". May not be the best but Still good entertainment.

Today????
I See a ton of Arcade Tricks Return.
Four Hour Games.
Great Presentation and little to no rewards for finishing or completing.
All of the old "Unlockable content" is now Bought and titled "D.L.C."
Incomplete Games.

Money, Money, Money.
Cost, Cost, Cost.

I pose this question after Nintendo decided to make plans on removing cinema and story content from the Next Smash Brothers Game. (Rewards getting fewer and fewer now?)

I can not understand What goes on in the "Business" end of development but, If they want money? Then would it not be easier to make great Products that last?

If there were no Story Content In Street Fighter 4? I would not have graced a copy. Period.
I already have graced the other Street Fighter Games on my X-Box and Playstation.
Why Would I care to spend Full Price Money on a Graphical Upgrade?

Beyond that why bother solving the next puzzle in any new game if you do not get any reward for it?

Who cares about a Score Board on an exclusive Website that can only be accessed by a few privileged Who Pay the Toll?
I never had to pay a toll to walk into the Arcade at the Mall.
This is not a Rock Concert that only happens once in a lifetime.

This is just a game.

So, I ask this question.
Who is buying these games new?
I know I bit the Bullet with Marvel Vs Capcom 3, and Dead Pool.
(Burned 2 out of 3 Times with Full Price Purchase. The Third was Devil May Cry H.D. Well worth the Price. But why are the games already ten years old?)

With this in mind.
Who exactly would rush to the stores to get The New Console? (Aside from "Angry Joe".)

Any thoughts or conversation on this topic is thanked in advance.
Good Luck.
Peace.
