The best possible memory from my childhood games.

Over the course of my life, there's been one game that was prominent to me, it was just one of my favorite N64 games, I never forgot it, but time did. That game was, as the title says, Bomberman Hero.

Bomberman Hero was a 3D platformer from the Bomberman series, a massive change up from previous games, and every other Bomberman game, because of the other games being a multiplayer arcade game, this game was overshadowed by all of them because it wasn't the normal Bomberman experience. It deserved more than that, it was a great game that should have gotten praise because of everything that it did right, instead of having to fit the dotted lines of it's previous games, it went past that.

Let's get started.

Graphics
The graphics in the game are original, good looking, and a good point of the game. There are points in the game where it can look plain, or stocked, and there are other points where it looks pretty good. It's not revolutionary looking, or as good looking as Nintendo's N64 games, but it holds up with the generation. They're clean, they don't get in the way of the game, and they're memorable.

Graphics - 8/10

Sound
The sound in Bomberman Hero is one of the best parts of the game. With amazing and catchy music all the way around, it leaves a very unique feeling and it's just so amazing when you hear the music behind any level just cheering you on and adding a fun vibe to the game that I haven't seen in many games since.

Music - 9/10

The sound effects can become repetitive at times, but they also add to the game, there's a certain satisfaction in getting a bomb strength of 4 and hearing the powerful blast that comes from it. The jumping, the bombs, and the boss sounds are all great sounding. Sometimes it can be annoying, but it's overall enjoyable to play with volume.

Effects - 6/10

The sound in Bomberman Hero is amazing, with the music and the effects, it couldn't be any more catchy or memorable.

Overall Sound - 8/10

Addictiveness
When I started this game at the age of 5, I could not put down the controller, there's a sense of wonder and satisfaction that makes you keep playing. It leaves a lasting impression and you'll always want more. It's an addicting game that is hard to let go of. I have beaten this game at least 15 times. You can always go back to it with a fun experience.

Addictiveness - 10/10

Story
The story of this game is the classic, but worn "Princess gets kidnapped, _____ must save her" cliché. However, it's very similar to Star Wars, the Princess steals a data disk from the evil empire, stores the information in a robot, and gets captured and held in a really similar Death Star called "Garaden". Bomberman needs to go through all of the planets in the system, collect the disks, battle his rival, Nitros, and his other enemies, and save the day.

It's a twist on the idea, but it's not very original, and the story isn't noticed. Nobody would play this game for the story, essentially, but it's not very much needed because of the other elements of the game that make it so enjoyable.

Story - 4/10

Depth
Bomberman Hero has 4 worlds containing 3 stages, and 6-8 levels in each stage, which adds up to be 84 levels in the game. The levels are all somewhat vast, and make the game last. There's also a boss world, where you must battle all of the bosses again to get to the final boss. You face 6 bosses there, making a total of 90 levels. It takes many hours to get through it. There's also 24 hidden "bombs" that you can find, and when you get all of them, alongside a perfect score on each level, you get a 6th world called the "Gossick Star", which has 3 stages in its own, making a challenge for you to collect everything and to keep playing until you get the new levels. The game is deep, and you will be glued to it for every moment.

Depth - 8/10

Difficulty
The game is not very difficult, you'll often find yourself breezing right through it. It has it's moments where it's moderately difficult, and the boss fights are kinda hard to do. You won't find yourself looking for a game guide at any point, and you will probably only need 5 or 6 continues. It certainly has it's moments, but it's incredibly easy to play.

Difficulty - 3/10

Overall, the game is an incredibly fun experience, with graphics, sounds, replay value and depth that you will love and always come back to. Though at points you'll complain about the ease of the game, you will love playing through it every single time you do. It's satisfying, it's memorable, and it will be a great amount of fun to you.

Check out the soundtrack, watch some let's plays or gameplay, or play it on the RGR. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great review. I have nothing bad to say about it. I hope to see another review from you sometime in the future I think I might have to check this game out now. It sounds like I'll like it.

alexanyways : Nice review. Finally you don't make a post about national television. This review flowed well, and it was well worded. There's nothing bad about this review. Keep up the good work.
