Donkey Kong Country is a great series of games that brings out the awesomeness in the Super Nintendo with classic side scrolling fun. Donkey Kong Country Competition Edition was a specially made competition for a blockbuster event back when Donkey Kong Country was released. Unfortunately, I was only 4 years old when I was given the actual game for my birthday and I knew nothing about this until I found myself on the Vizzed site. This special edition to the series is only a competition starting with the first level and jumping around other levels for the purpose of competing for a high score in 5 minutes.

Overall: 10
So this review is going to be somewhat unlike any other review I've typed up because this is a special game. Special game equals special review. To add to that, the competition for this game is going on while I review it so it's kind of like calling it a live review because I'm competing while reviewing (See what I did there? ). Anyway, what I like about this game is that it's a fairly simple competition but at the same time, fairly difficult too. All you have to do is rack in the points as fast as you can in 5 minutes by repeating the same actions over and over again or by completing as many levels as you can. It's as simple as that but still very difficult to compete. I give it a 10 overall because there aren't any other games (That I know of) that are like this game. It's pretty unique and it's still very simple.

Addictiveness: 10
I find myself competing during this Vizzed competition to get the highest score I can. Knowing I've already earned the highest score on Vizzed (currently at this point in time), I still find myself trying to best it. I know that other players are attempting to make their mark and if their method is more successful than my method then I might fall behind and I don't want that. This rating is based solely on the competition. Knowing that rcarter was 1st place with 100 points less than my best score, I know he could come back on here and make things difficult for me. For this reason it's become somewhat addicting. I can't help but grab my controller and attempt to get further even if I happen to fail.

Difficulty: 10
Given that the conditions require contestants to use Mednafen and record their game, I'm finding this to be very difficult to play due to inconsistently persistent lag. This meaning that lag will hit me at the worst times. I even watched the video I posted and THAT DOES NOT SHOW THE LAG I HAD TO FACE TO DO THAT!! I made so many errors that hindered my score and timing. This is the most difficult aspect of competing and I'm sure other players are probably facing the same. Due to both the lag and that this is a competition, the difficulty will be very hard for players. I'm pretty sure that once players submit their videos, the competition will pick up. Difficulty gets a 10 out of 10!

Lastly, I didn't feel the need to include graphics, sound, story or depth into this game because those are pretty irrelevant. Graphics and Sound are still from Donkey Kong Country (Which are reviewed on the appropriate game) and there's no story to this competition (I can make one!) plus there's no real layer of depth to this version other than score which wasn't available to Donkey Kong Country. Anyway, I recommend players to compete and put up some nice scores!

Pretty nice review and I understand why you don't want to include the rest, but other than that, nice
