Ah Mortal combat vs dc universe the game that was last made before the company of Midway went bankrupt and the mortal combat rights went to Warner bros. Another game I had for the 360 it was an ok game.

Background story: Mortal combat vs dc once the trailer released it got everyone thinking oh man I'm gonna like dragon chomp batman or burn superman to a skeleton?  This is gonna be amazing  unfortunately here's what cased midway to get a hara kiri or fatality as I would say. mk vs dc happen to be one of those cases where companies didn't trust 1 another with their property rights. In results we didn't get a bloody hardcore game I mean sure there was blood but the finishing moves"aka"fatalities were lousy lame  and just boring. This mainly bothered the main mortal combat fans and made almost all of them want their money back. Midway couldn't pay their workers enough money do to that reason and boom bankrupt.

Plot the plot of  mk vs dc universe is basically like any other older mortal combat game you go through a number of fights until you beat the boss but this time with Dc characters you can play as.

Graphics:  to be clear here the graphics are really impressive everything looks well polished neatly detailed and well completed.sprites:they look incredible  if anything that makes them shine is their well detailing the costuming the 3d effects are really good and well done.even the dc characters like the joker even though a big clown he looks greatly impressive and just well true to his actual counterparts in the batman movies and the games. The Mortal combat gang is all here and well done too I mean just look at how really well scorpion looks along with all the other characters they really have a nice style and it suits them fairly well. Animation: the characters don't have their classic stance's anymore that's not to say their new stances are horrible no I wouldn't say that at all The animation is a big part of keeping the sprites fresh even the flash moving really fast and punching you like in 5 seconds or less his speedy animations are really smooth And not missing any frames which is a good thing because missing animations makes some parts feel incomplete. The well done job of the animations here is a good well done job because of how much animation and how smooth it looks. Stages Natural dc and Mk style: a good example for this is in mk you constantly See bridges spikes blood on walls body parts and heads a bunch of heads. In dc games you see a bunch of fire and mayhem happening  and you see a bunch of people about to fall off from the very tops of buildings and swoop the hero comes and saves the person falling to their doom.yes there is a quite a bit of those type of stages as the graveyard is full of tombstones spiked up cages. and there maybe no people falling down on stuff quite frankly ( I just used that part for an a example). but their is stages with water fountains fire and a bunch of cars broken their windows smashed in all of that mayhem because of villain's like the joker and catwoman cause that stuff to happen. Graphics rating 10/10

Sound. The number of sound effects is top notch how ever the Soundtrack is pretty much plain. In all previous mk games they would uppercut you. kick punch. and combo the living snot out of ya. Ah the glorious grunts and screams they always happended because they made the games follow with their previous grunts because the grunts Followed with that precious blood and gore something that the 90's people really enjoyed. you have scorpion saying get over here  a difference Liu kang doesn't sound all wooble wooble lol he sounds like a normal guy in this game. During the storyline The characters start using actual voice acting rather instead of just samples which the classics used. The Dc characters themselves are rather very true to their cartoon movie or game acting. (using joker and cat woman for an example again) he acts all wacky and does his little clown laugh when he hits you the dc characters also have a lot of grunts as well Cat woman does her usual p**** cat acts  such as meowing to challenge you and doing the little kkehh thing she and all other characters are well represented and full of some good acting and samples here. Soundtrack its dark on some parts but some songs happen to re loop a lot and the soundtrack just doesn't sound all that great to me. Sound rating 8

Addictiveness With a quite a good amount of characters a unique fighting style and a finally a move guide with a good amount of gore  (some lame finishing moves here and there) Mortal combat vs dc is a pretty fun game even though it caused a lot of fans to be mad at the game. Addictiveness rating 5 even though I say its a fun game I didn't quite play it a whole lot because games like umk3 were more fun to me

Story. 1st off you have 2 options that is Mk mode and Dc mode. but I later figured out There basically the same thing expect you play as a different character in each chapter. The storyline started off with me being liu kang and Shang tsung trying to knock me out and then I fought sub zero then scorpion appeared out of nowhere and boom had to kick his butt. After you done that you pick up on various more chapters and character crossovers such as Scorpion meets the joker. But anyways the main storyline is you need to stop Dark khan with raiden or superman it depends which mode you choose. He is trying to use his power to make everyone get mad"aka" rage and destroy 1 another once all fighters are dead Dark khan will try and merge the 2 mk and dc universe. and dc and the mortal combat gang knew that would rip the planet apart. Story rating 7 pretty nice

Depth.. Biggest part is story mode. theres not a whole lot to do in Mk vs dc. you got story mode arcade mode and mutilplayer. story mode is only 1 player along with arcade mode. Some of the matches didn't take me long at all to beat so with that being said. Depth rating 5 honestly it doesn't really surprise  me that this mode was short ,because around this time the mortal combat franchise started really lacking in depth.


Difficulty game ant all that hard. even with the 360s horrible standard directional pad This game didn't really give me much of a struggle as the only challenge I've had was against Dark Khan  as it took me about 5 tries before I've beaten him with raiden. Controls work fine but you might wanna get an arcade stick or a newer 360 controller that has a better d-pad. Difficulty rating 5

Overall Mk vs dc was An ok game in my book. Just not as fun as previous mortal combat titles. Overall rating 9.6
