Quarth
For the NES/Famicom

Introduction
You start the game as a ship, called a "Quarth", and unknown galactic vehicle who's objective is to rocket upwards while clearing blocks. The blocks will be cleared if they are formed into complete squares or rectangles (even if there's empty space inside) The Quarth ship, however, has the ability to move left and right and add blocks to the play field in order to form squares and rectangles. The goal is to try and clear away all the blocks, without crashing the ship into the pieces! (via a border line at the bottom of the screen) The brain is your limit in this action puzzler with a new twist of game play.
Graphics
The graphics in this game may seem fairly bland, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. Even though the graphics are somewhat simple, they are also very calm, helping you focus more on the game instead. They are also very smooth, to boot. They look clean, well done, and have nice animations. Even the border line is drawn on and off frames while being varied to look like an imaginary line at the bottom which you must avoid. There's even a guide cursor that shows where your blocks will meet up. The cursor even turns into a letter to signify which power-up is coming soon, very helpful in an action puzzler. The graphics may seem bland, but they're all put to good use. Better yet, there's no slowdown in the game, no matter how many pieces enter the fray! Especially helpful if you're timing the shots of your bullets, when you can only have four onscreen at once.
Sound
The sound in this game is also fairly well done. The game music is catchy and keeps you remembering about the game. The game music also gets more hyper when you get into the more faster parts of a stage, getting you hyper up and ready for the hardest part of a stage. The game music is also well rolling and keeps calm and focused on the game, just like the graphics do. The sound isn't too blaring and loud, every action has it's own specific sound so you know what happens, and it's not too repetitive. The sound is well drawn out for this game, adding on to it's more calm and simple theme.
Addictiveness
This game, just like Tetris, is one of those games that have a simple concept that is also hard to master, all while plotting a slow difficulty curve that will draw in new players yet hold in masters. It's easiest stage is slow enough for beginners to get a grasp of the game while it's hardest level is so extremely fast and unforgiving that it even challenges masters of puzzle games. It has welcoming music and graphics that are nice and simple yet sure, which really help you enjoy the game even more so. It has a brand new style of play that's not seen anywhere else, fitted with many ways to gain more score, and making it harder to obtain larger scores, making it a never-ending challenge to those who want to be the very best at the game. It even got me to continue playing the game over and over to try and get an awesome score.  Be warned, as if you are a fellow fan of puzzlers, you will not put the controller down until you've had your share of it's fun.
Story
There isn't anything to say about the story, because there isn't any real story at all, at least what I can tell from my experience, other than the fact that you are a Quarth ship built to clear blocks. But, should that be a story, it would be a simple one in itself, going along with the simple theme of the game already set. I unfortunately don't know how to rate a situation like this, but from how the game is, it doesn't really need much story at all. In fact, it's probably a good thing, because having some big story behind it all would over-complicate the game and distract players away from the simple yet addicting game play that lies beneath.
Depth
For a puzzle game, it's also decent on it's depth, as well. Even though it has just ten stages (0-9) there are also ten sections (0-9) as well for each stage, along with a wide variation of block patterns for you to clear and try and clear through. If you play the game for a long time though, you start to notice similar patterns arising, which may start to result in a small amount of repetitiveness. This repetitiveness is covered by the power-ups offered in the game, which help you get greater score, and must used at the optimal points of time for maximal score! But once you've gone and mastered the game, there is also a multiplayer mode, where you can duke it out against a friend, or cooperate with them in cooperative or tag team play! The added game modes adds even more depth to the game, just as much as the Tengen Tetris did a while back.
Difficulty
Once again, the game is a lot like Tetris; The controls are easy to get used to, but it takes a long time to master it. The game is a little difficult to get used to, but once you do, you should be flinging blocks up the screen and having endless fun in no-time. It's difficulty curve is well-rounded, the easy levels are very obviously easy, and the harder levels are also obviously brain-numbingly hard. It's game play objective is a little more difficult than Tetris is, though, as the goal is to form big squares as quick as possible, without taking up too much time as the ship approached the blocks. If you were to make a long wayward stack of blocks needlessly, it could be quite tricky to clean up. But, the early levels are slow enough to allow you to clean up such a mess, which makes the game more enjoyable to even the newest players.
Overall
This game an amazingly underrated and underplayed game, with a wonderful new style of play, many interesting ways to score more points, heavy addictiveness, and a calm atmosphere, made it one of my favourite puzzlers of all. It's amazingly underplayed and heavily undertaken, making me surprised at why it didn't get a new light on newer consoles. It'll be even more fun when you get together with a friend and enjoy the game competitively or cooperatively. It will keep you going at the game for a while, even if you're just a light puzzle fan. Not quite as addicting as the classic known as Tetris, but it comes extremely close. I'd definitely have this game in my hands if I were a kid back then playing on the NES.

The only thing missing from this review: Scoring. You seem like you enjoy the game, but you didn't put in an overall score, and it would've been nice to see the scores for each section as a part of the review itself. (The thing at the top that shows all the scores isn't easily noticeable. ^^'')

Actually, I did try to fix the overall score earlier, but for some reason it kept giving me a MySQL error when I tried to add in the overall score. ^^'
Yeah, I don't know what was up with the system, but some error is preventing me from doing such a thing right now. Until then the section scores will have to do until it gets fixed.

Yes, I do like the game, it was really one of my favourite puzzlers so far, there's quite a few possibilities you can do with it. It would be nice if there were more sets of pieces, though. (In fact, this game shouldn't be too hard to remake, either. I'll add this as one of my games I plan to bring back to life in the later years, or to practice coding with) Because I've played it through a few times, I'm starting to get used to the sets of pieces the game throws at me, so I'm starting to think about remaking it with more sets of puzzles to offer, or a way to randomly generate it to make it even more fun!

I honestly think this game is greatly overlooked, I'm sure it would be cool to have this game come back on a newer console, it really is a classic and I didn't know it until I tried it.
