To answer your original questions, I'm a gamer chick and I do play games with my current boyfriend. He's very into gaming, collects the rare ones, the works, while I play once in a while in my free time and when I'm sick (like today). When we play, it's usually co-op games rather than against one another. Right now we're playing Tales of the Abyss, which has an interesting plot line.

Despite our common interest in gaming, I encourage him do other things, like long walks and snooping in antique shops. I've even invited him to come along on a road trip to Canada this summer! He's open to going places and doing things, so I'll keep him around a bit longer.

I would love a gamer girlfriend (except for the not liking girls part). Regardless, I can vouch for their existence. My college actually has a Gaming Club where some of the officers are girls. They're better than the guys with some games.

I had a couple of gamer girlfriends it's fun sharing the same interests in games sitting together and playing some Co-OP

Either you game or you don't, I could not care less. It is not for me where it counts.

But if you do. Never expect me to play anything with you that involves two controllers. I lose my interest in those very easily and very quickly. Either you watch me or I watch you. I am willing to have conversation about new and vintage games and play stuff that involves puzzles as a "team". But I also refuse to play anything that involves getting "online" or the sort. Gaming can be an experience that we both share together, but I think at most it is better if we just share the tips afterwards.

If you don't. Deal with it. I don't play that often anyway. Go do something else while I am doing it. I can make my own sandwiches just fine, thank you. I also try not to bother you when you feel like doing something on your own, like watching some movie I don't like or chatting with your girlfriends. We share and do something else together later.  And whatever that is, by compromise, it will rock both our worlds.

A gamer girl would be excellent. I especially would like one who could challenge me and actually beat me in games. I'm a fan of challenges, and I've been getting sick of letting girls win just to make them happy. lol

I can't stand it when people tell us that it's odd when girls play video games. I don't see how it's odd.

Denia : I completely agree with you, there is absolutely no problem for a girl to be gaming and I don't even know why some people say that. It's like saying that a man can't play sports because some women do, that's just ridiculous and I definitely think people who think like this need to get smacked! Haha

I'm a gamer girl and I love playing shooters like Halo 4, COD Black Ops 2, etc. I also like visual novels, anime, reading manga, and really am open to gaming and suggestions in general.

I game with my bf all the time! It's actually one of the things that brings us closer together. Really, it's based on preference if you want to game with your bf/gf. It's something where really it depends on the situation. If your bf/gf is very competitive but playful I would say it's not a bad idea, especially if you both of you don't really want to do anything that day/night. Me and my bf like to crack open a bag of chips, pop, and just game. It's really awesome We sometimes even order pizza, which makes it even better because our favorite food is pizza.

For me, I especially love gaming. A lot of the girls at my school find me weird because of it, but really, I don't think it's such a bad thing. I think that if you had the choice, to date a gamer girl.

I am not opposed to girl gamers but I think we all need a reality check.

If a girl and a dude is spending time with one another and the first thing that comes to mind is leveling up as opposed to ...."Getting to the next base"???

I think they need to sort their lives out if they really want to game on as opposed to doing the traditional stuff.

orionfoxgibson : So you think that every time a man and women are around each other they should be, doing biological things, instead of what brings in the chemistry for some people, and I don't see anything wrong with if you spent a whole day at work, you'd want to come home and play some games with your girlfriend/wife etc. It's a release for some people like sports or any other thing said person likes to do.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but I don't think every time a man and women are next to each other they should be making out or something of the like, don't get me wrong I would definitely love to kiss a girl but in a relationship I would also need a friend, not just a lover.

Yes, I totally agree.  It would be awesome to have a girlfriend who is into gaming, but just because she is into gaming doesn't mean it will last.  My brother and his wife are both avid gamers, and they fight every other day like cats and dogs.  I am willing to give them another year before my brother winds up in the divorced pool along with me.  So, although there are lots of women out there who are into gaming, I still have yet to find the one who is not only into gaming but also into me as in accepting me the way I am.

I also want a gamer as a girlfriend. Hell, let's take our anger out on zombies, monsters and other players online not each other. It seems like where I live, all the gamer girls are taken though which sucks.

I think that is definetely a plus that a girl is a gamer. Especially when she is great looking. You have to let her win, even if she is better than you at the game. I had a girlfriend last year that was a gamer. We had a really great time together as a couple, that is until she had to move away from the state. But oh well, there are plenty of fish in the sea. But yes a girl being a gamer is definetely a turn on. Especially when she lines the same games as you do!

My girlfriend plays PS3 games with me, things like Call of Duty, Borderlands, and others.

She's trying to get me to be more casual, and I'm getting her to be more hardcore.

I think it's cool that you would consider having a gamer gf. In general, I feel that it's nice to have that specific someone be able to respect and understand why certain activities and hobbies make you happy. So with a gamer gf, gaming wouldn't be a problem.

I am a gamer but it's not something I would say consumes my life. I enjoy it a lot, especially talking about it with other friends and playing  with them. I've actually dated several guys that were really into video games but the most we ever do is really talk about it. I've had several guy friends who always react differently to the fact that I enjoy playing video games. Some are excited because they enjoy the variety of not only playing against male friends but others just get really annoyed because apparently a girl being better than them at a video game is the end of the world. Those guys are usually scratched off my list of people that I would consider even bothering with.

In the end, I wouldn't mind playing video games with a boyfriend. The thing is that I really enjoy my alone time, so that time usually consists of me reading, talking to friends online, playing video games, etc. Therefore, I would like a balance in being able to play by myself and other times with that special someone.
