Well here it is the 3rd installment of the Pokémon franchise released in America( 4th installment of the Pokémon franchise in Japan). This game offers players the chance to take on the identity of Pokémon trainer Ash Ketchem, and play through the game with pikachu(which by the way will not evolve into raichu) and get all the Kanto starters the exact same way Ash did in the anime. This is defiantly the best game of its time that came out for the Game Boy, its different from Green, Red, Blue by the fact that Pokémon from all three games are all in this one game. Pikachu in this does in fact like in the anime is outside the ball and walks around with you which only added to the games fun so enjoy! Graphics I gave a 10 out of 10, because the animations and design are at its peak for its time, its goes above and beyond what you would expect from a graphics on a Game Boy platform/system. Sound I gave a 9 out of 10, because yellow didn't have its own soundtrack made just for this version, its the same music from Green, Red, Blue versions, which can be annoying after a while to listen to. Addictiveness: I gave a 10 out of 10, because I personally will always enjoy this game( I still have the actual cartilage of this game) , this game is the Ash Ketchem's adventure to the T, there's really nothing else like it so it will always have a very appealing, very enjoyable high replay value in my opinion. Story: I gave a 9 out of 10, because its basically the same story as Green, Red, and Blue but with a few good trainer's,gym leaders, and elite 4 Pokémon changes, along with level changes, and what Pokémon appear in the wild. Depth: I gave a 8 out of 10, because the games the same length as its previous installments (Green, Red, and Blue), but it has its perks like you can still do the mew hack in it, pikachu walks around with you. The game doesn't really take that long to beat i estimate a game play time of about maybe 4-5 days if your taking your time and with out the speed button. Difficulty: I gave 7 out of 10, because to be honest the games not very hard at all. By allowing you to get all the Kanto starters, it makes making a well balanced team is quite easy. The A.I.'s in the game seem kinda better/more challenging but can still be easily over come if you have type advantage( levels don't really count for much in this). Overall: I gave this game a 9.5 out of 10, because its unique and automatically a classic in my opinion. this really shows off Gamefreaks abilities to make a quality game that fans of the pokemon franchise will always remember and be thankful for. I recommend this game as a starting game for anyone new to the series, and basically anyone who wants to play through the Ash adventure like it was originally suppose to be.
