I really like the items in the series because they can help you defeat opponents, but at the same time, they can hurt you if your opponents uses them to, so to me, I do like it more in the game than not in the game.

Ya, i agree. Items are kind of a waste. Makes the game less skill full. Like the hammer is just crazy in the first super smash. One hit Ko's everywhere.

For items, I like the pokeball in super smash bros brawl, sometimes it can be a useful Pokémon and other times it sucks, like latios/latios and kyogre and metagross are the best Pokémon you want to come out of a pokeball. Goldeen does absolutely nothing whatsoever. Sometimes though they do take away from the actual skill in the game making it less fun because you can rely on an item to give someone a K.O without having to do it yourself. I like a few items but I don't heavily rely on them for me to win the game though. Good topic.

And the Smash ball should only appear once per match, I'm not sure if that's actually what happens. I think my favorite item is the star rod, I like how it shoots out the beams of stars.

Eh. They can be okay. I only like the health items, Smash ball, and poison and growth mushrooms. Other than that, they're really unoriginal and sort of annoy me. I mean, the lightning can be cool, but with the chance to shock yourself, it fails.
