Tecmo Bowl

Information: Tecmo Bowl is a NES football game! It is one of the first games I believe that referred to real teams, (Not the names, but the cities) instead of just 2-4 generic teams. The reason why it can't use the real names of the team, is because of copyright. But however, they were allowed to use the real names of the cities. It was one of the first to do so, and to have so many teams!

Overall: Overall, I gave this game a 9. Now, you may say "Oh, the game isn't good at all!" for one of the reasons that you can't get a grip on the controls, you don't like football, maybe you don't like the NES compared to the "PS3" or "XBOX360" period. But this is darn good for a NES game. Everything works right, there are good grapchics for the NES, I love the sound effects and music, it is addictive if you are a fan of football, and there are A LOT of teams to face.  I gave this game a 9/10 overall, because it's quite fun once you get the hang of it. Below are more in-depth to the specific details.

Graphics: Once again, if you say the graphics aren't good, look at all the 8-BIT games that were coming out at the time. I know they were meant to be 8-BIT, but these graphics hold out good for a NES game. You also need to note that the animations work and run smoothly as the characters run, the ball flies, etc. I gave these graphics a 9/10, just read above again if you haven't understood why already.

Sound: The sound I don't see any real flaw in. If you don't like the sound, it's probably either the QB hiking or the crowd cheers. I don't see any other "flaws" other then those. Which really aren't flaws to begin with. There is honestly nothing else to say, except that I rated it 10/10.

Addictiveness: I could honestly play this for hours without getting bored, because sports games never really do get old to me. But once you consider in the fact that, yes there are only 4 plays for most teams, and yes football does get repetitive, it might not be as addicting to some people. I, really, could play for 2-3 hours going through to the championship, but others will not agree. For that, I'll rate it an 8.5/10.

Depth:
The game itself really only goes so far as to what you can do. There is a single player, where you play football, a multiplayer where you can play with a friend, and there is a coach option, where you manage a team! But, I haven't been able to click and expirement with anything other than single player, because vizzed doesn't allow me to scroll down on the main menu. Back on topic, though, with the limited amount of things you can do, even though it has a long way to the championship, I'm only going to rate depth 7.5/10.

Difficulty: I'm not going to lie, the game is actually really hard starting up, and hard as your playing through. The controls take some getting used to, and on top of that, every time you throw a ball, it gets intercepted if you threw it to someone that's even slightly covered. And on running plays, it's based 80% on luck. I wanted to rate this a 7, maybe 6.5'ish out of 10, because I'm good at it, other people are too. But the majority of people will get frustrated with it. So for that, 8/10 on difficulty.
