It really depends on your pokemon, you know. They are all easy if you just have the right pokemon. The first one is easy if you picked Bulbasaur or Squirtle. If you have Pikachu or a Squirtle Misty will be easy. By catching a Diglett, the third gym becomes really easy. The grass gym is fairly easy if you chose Charmander or raised the Charmander you got in yellow. The poison gym-leader is easy if you just have a mixture of psychic, fire and flying. Sabrina is harder, but with a strong pokemon with a great move she can be really easy. The fire gym is simple with Vaporeon, and the last one is really easy with him as well.

So, with the right team and the right moves, all of the gyms can become easy.

Lt. Surge is the easiest hands down.
Beat him to the pulp with and without diglett.

giovanni is the easiest gym leader to beat i think if you have a good water type e.g Blastiose, Tentacruel or Seadra or a good grass type like Vileplume, Venusaur or Victerebell the match will be easy.

For me the easiest gym leader was Erika. With flying types like Pidgy and Spearow that you can get early in the game defeating her grass Pokemon should be cake. Also, if you chose Charmander as a starter it could destroy her Pokemon with ease, especially if its a Charzard by then its level will be high enough to handle anything in the gym plus fire/flying is a full grass types worst nightmare. If that's not enough you also have Vulpix or Growlithe to choose from (depending on the game version)witch you can evolve with fire stone if you want. Then there's Evee who you can evolve to Falreon with fire stone if you want.

I'm going to have to say Misty for this one, even though everyone else is. I'm playing Yellow, so I got the Bulbasaur just to use Leech Seed on Gym Leader's Pokemon (it is cheap, I know). The plan is to use Bulbasaur's Leech Seed on the pokemon and then it usually dies, so the pokemon who switches in gets the Leech Seed and all of the experience. The problem was, Bulbasaur didn't die. I kept using Leech Seed to stall for time and not damage Starmie any more, but Misty kept using X Defends and stuff until Starmie finally died from Leech Seed. Aside from that, Erika. I swept with Vaporeon, interestingly (with Ice beam).

It depends on what starter Pokemon that you have. I would say L.T Surge is the easiest.

I can't believe no one has said this yet.
The first gym.
Dual Weakness to both Bulbasaur and Squirtle.
If you picked Charmander or have Pikachu because you are playing yellow version, just catch a Nidoran "F" and use double kick. (Fighting Type)

I agree with gtwalq. Misty is by far the easiest ESPECIALLY if you have pikachu or bulbasaur . But then again it just depends on what type of pokemon you go in with against specific Gym Leaders.

I have to say Brock. He just has a geodude and an onix, which both of them not have very goood moves. It is easiest to destroy him if you started your pokemon journey with Squirtle, which level is higher than the two of Brock's opponent, and some back- up pokemons with advantages over Brock's pokemons.

Even both of Brock's pokemons are weak against Grass, so Bulbasaur might do if he has some strong grass moves. I don't know about Charmander though. Charmander is weak against to rock, so his moves might not fo enough damage before your opponent kills it.

I would have to say Beock because squirtle and bulbasaur are naturally super effective, and I normally have charmander to know metal claw by then.

Merrik : What if Metal Claw didn't exist? That's how it was in that generation.

And yes, probably Brock is the weakest. It's not too hard to find a way to take his low-leveled Pokémon down. They're filled with weaknesses.

The only troubles are Charmander and actually Pikachu, but some dedicated trainers could catch a good substitute or even train their original Pokémon enough to take down that skinny hiker wannabe.

I would have to say Blaine is the easiest along side of LT. Surge. They both have pokemon that can be easily overcome with simple tactics. However, most annoying gym leader? Koga.

I always have a Pokemon with at least one good move for every type that I'm going to be fighting.

I am going to have to say that the 8th gym (Giovanni) is the easiest. Seeing as how I always choose Blastoise (he is my favorite Pokemon evah) I can take him down within usually a minute, since all of his Pokemon are Ground type. Now, if you are talking about the Gym itself, as in trainer difficulty, terrain, and leader difficulty, then I would have to say either Misty's gym, or Brock's gym. You can very easily take down Brock if you have Bulbasaur or Squirtle, and plus there is only one trainer, and you can get around him without having to fight him. Misty's gym is easy because if you have a grass or electric type, the battles in there shouldn't be too difficult at all.

But, to answer your question, I would have to say Giovanni's gym is the easiest for me.

I'd say the water gym. In yellow version you have pikachu, an electric type, so it should be easy. In Red and Blue you can still get a grass type starter or catch a grass type Pokemon

I felt like Blaine was a really easy one. I mean, even though only a few types are super effective, you are surrounded by water to surf and fish from, and you NEED Surf at this point. Those 2 factors alone almost guarantee an easy badge, and besides that, Charizard can learn Earthquake to take them out. Venusaur may have a problem but i've never started with a Grass Starter before
