What is the best cheat code of any retro game ever made? Demonstrate how to use that cheat code by recording a video of yourself performing it. Be sure to give your submission a title, upload it to youtube and add it to the game's page. Also be sure to post a link to it in this thread. Once the month is over, staff will vote on the best submission.

-You must add your video to the game's page

Xzman : You don't have to actually have to have a youtube account to upload it. You can do it through Vizzed. Make your video using the plugin. On that game's page, click the link that says '"Click to Upload your Video to Vizzed Youtube". You just choose your video file, give it a description and title, and Vizzed will upload it to youtube through the Vizzed YouTube account. 

Xzman : Only videos uploaded to youtube count, sorry. Like rcarter2 said, you can just upload it to the vizzed youtube page without having to even go to youtube.

Davideo7 : I tried to record a video for this contest used Medafen (or however it's spelled) but the output file was over 3GB which doesn't sound like a good idea to use... none of the video compression software I have can read whatever type of coding that emulator uses either so I can't decrease the file size in any way. Any advice?

Also it was REALLY hard playing the game while recording on that emulator because trying to record basically made the game run at about 15FPS. It felt like it took an hour to get through the game when it was less than 15 minutes of gameplay.

I've never really had any speed/lag issues on the other emulators here on Vizzed but that one seems to really be bad for me. Even playing without recording, I encountered some minor random slowdowns here and there.

Crazy Li : 3G? Wow, how long was the video?

I've never had any problems recording with mednafen, must be something related to your computer. Has this always been a problem, even with previous version of the plugin?

Davideo7 : The video is 15 minutes long.

I tested Mednafen recording when it was first added to the RGR plugin in beta and it worked smoothly. This is the fist time I've experienced any issues.

Crazy Li : Dangit...I really hope this is an issue on your end and not the plugin because it'd be a serious pain to put together and release another plugin update.

Davideo7 : it could just be me but it'd be odd for it to just start now.

what should I do with the video? Am I able to make an entry?

Crazy Li : I suppose you could try reinstalling the plugin and see if that helps.

Davideo7 : If the madnafen is what the SNES uses for recording, that sounds about right. My file size for my 30 minute batman returns video was 8GB. Needless to say, I deleted it from my computer as soon as it was loaded to YouTube. 

Crazi Li: if you have a program that converts the file to a wvm file, that should help with the file size. 

rcarter2 : As I said earlier in the thread, NONE of my video conversion/compression software understands the type of video that Mednafen outputs. My only way to convert to WMV is Windows Movie Maker which can't read it. I typically make videos into compressed AVIs but even the program I have for that can't understand the encoding of that file. It's not really compatible with a single thing I've seen.

Davideo7 : Wow, that worked amazing well. Read the .mov file just fine and I was able to compress it to a 164MB AVI file. Uploading it to the Vizzed Youtube channel now for my submission to this contest.

The game is NBA Jam for the SNES demonstrating one of the many cheat codes to play as hidden players. This one is to play as Bill Clinton because that's just amusing. Gameplay footage includes me entering the code and then playing a full game to conclusion using it. Play is very sloppy due to a combination of me being bad at sports games and the game being incredibly laggy while recording :p

That'll be an interesting one. That use to be a real popular game in my school when I was younger, I played it but never knew Bill Clinton was a playable character lol.

Davideo7 : Yeah, there were a lot of interesting added characters to it. I can't remember many others now though... just DJ Jazzy Jeff and they had a team mascot or two. I think they might have had George Clinton as well...

On a side note, I'm going to be testing some more things in regards to video recording under various systems to see if I can get it to not lag bad. That SNES attempt was the worst I've seen. I did VBA and NES on older plugin versions and MAME on the new one and not even MAME lagged as much as SNES (MAME actually didn't lag at all for the first 10 or so minutes of recording).

I will want the optional ability to record netplay sessions without hindering play so let's how I can get that fixed!

Also, I sent you a PM the other day about a different video recorded related thingy whenever you get a chance to check that.
