Sonic Megahack review

My review for Sonic Megahack ultra,

-ABOUT THE GAME-

TO start off the game is about boss battles alone, the levels are there but the are unaltered and stink with the Sonic 1337 pallet (Sonic 1337 is deemed the worst sonic game/hack ever) That's about it a game about Boss battles. Now on to the review

-OVERALL-
The overall I give a 6.2 because the Boss battles are exceptionally good, and the speed sonic has is nice for the game along with the homing attack and the air-dash, the only thing that KILLS this game is the noobish pallet from Sonic 1377 and the constant use of the f word in the game. The use of the f word is the #1 reason that I will never play this game again. Even with the great Boss battles.

-GRAPHICS-

The graphics I rate a 5, why? Because of the noob-pallet colors, they look ugly and really hurt the game, Just look for yourself and you'll see what I mean, it is a Sonic 1337 all over again.


-SOUND-
Not much to say here, there are no new tracks to the game except the final zone, and it sounds very average to me, I give it a 5.

-ADDICTIVENESS-

That game is not all that addictive, It is a one time play and that's about it

-STORY-

there is no story so there is no rating


-DEPTH-

I rate this a 5 as well because it is a one time play unless you want to play the game with the non-noob pallet which I didn't care to . And there is only 3 Zones with 2 levels per zone and having unaltered levels don't help, with the terrible pallet.

-DIFFICULTY-

The difficulty of this game I rate a 9 because of the boss battles, they are very hard, and this is the main focus of the game the best has to be the one from SYZ act 1

-WRAP THINGS UP-

The game focuses on bosses which are done well

The pallet is awful in you first play through (the second play turns off the disgusting pallet

The guy uses the F word to much

I would not play this game again

That about sums it up. So I will see you next time with another review! (:

This doesn't sound like a game I would play. According to your review, it isn't that good, so I won't bother looking into it.

While the game was enjoyable, it certainly was a one-time only like you said, but the boss battles really made the game stand out from other hacks that might just change graphically or just the level design.

Really I think the noob-palette existed to fool non-aware visitors into thinking the game would not have anything good going for it(and were greatly greeted with spikes from heaving).

Also I do have to agree with you again on the overuse of the f bomb. It just made it feel unnecessarily edgy. Personally, I'm not that offended with swearing as long as it is spread out and doesn't go for a cluster swearfest or has an interesting plot to distract me from the swearing, but hey, we're not the same.

Overall, I thought your points were well-thought out and the score accurately matches the points made, so I congratulate you on a pretty solid review.
