A Kirby game that not only showed kirby's real color of pink, but also had lots of technology at the time of the year 1993 near the end of the NES time to make awesome music, lots of stages, and lots more.
Instructions: You play as the popular loved pink puff ball named Kirby, who travels through 6 worlds obtaining pieces of the shattered star rod to give dreams to dream land again. You start with 4 lives (mainly 5 of you count the 00 on the life counter) and can only take 6 hits before you die. You can gain extra lives from finding 1-up icons, and playing bonus games. This however resets back to 4 lives after resetting the game. You can have 99 lives cap, 9,999,990 points cap, and you can have several copy abilities to get from swallowing certain enemies. When you swallow enemies, you get abilities depending on what enemy you swallowed. The story is also explained in great detail if you wait on the title screen for a few moments.
Graphics - 8
Amazing NES graphics, I have to say. The backgrounds are well made and some interest me, such as the mountain background. The main part comes from sprites. They are all beyond perfect for NES limitations. The animations are great, too.
Sound - 10
Pretty much the best the NES can do for music. It is the music people back in the 2000's and late 1990's probably may have listen to as a Kirby fan. I don't know exactly about that. Too long back to think correctly.
Addictiveness - 10
This what a game would be, fun. But back in 1993, this was a hotseller for the Kirby series. It is very fun and if you ever find a copy now, they are rare to find since it was barely 19 years since it came out on NES. You can nowadays play it on vizzed here. (the link above this review where it says "Play Kirby's Adventure online") It is super fun and you should play it. You can also play it on the new Kirby game for the Wii, "Kirby's Dream Collection" which celebrates Kirby's 20th anniversary.
Depth - 7
It is a big game, however. Almost too long to play in one sitting, so there's a battery pack in the cartridge. It can die eventually in a few years of playing so hope it doesn't die out on a completed file. There are 5-7 stages in each world, and there's 6 worlds. It's big, and can take hours of non-stop play (estimated) to finish the game in one sitting.
Story - 8
I find the story to be nice. Gives great detail about how the story goes. The story is that the pieces of a star rod from the fountain of dreams was shattered in 6 pieces, which then gave Dream Land never-ending nightmares, Â and now, Kirby has to get them back to free Dream Land from nightmares. Like I said, it is a nice story for those Kirby fans in the 90's.
Difficulty - 6
It isn't that hard, the controls don't cause the difficulty. In good and great games like this, challenge is always in the game itself. Some stages can be hard, especially the last 2 worlds in the game. The bosses are a little hard near the end, but there's patterns that can't be spoiled with what attacks used when.
Overall - 9.7
Very close to a 10, it is almost perfect. This game is recommended to everyone who has or hasn't heard of Kirby before. This is a great game that brought millions of people with the amazingness of music, graphics, and all the fun stuff there is. If you haven't played this game, hurry up and play it! It should keep you in.
