   I'm making a new Pokémon hack based around the concept of "Pokémon liberation".  It will take place in a region that I have roughly designed so far, where the towns are all under the control of some evil team, but one with somewhat plausible reasoning, that has taken over.  There are fences around their borders and most of the people obey the rule that you cannot have Pokémon or go outside the fences (where all the Pokémon live and the underground Pokémon movement lives, with underground not being literal.)  Although this whole scheme seems impossible, I think that I will equate the idea somewhat to the idea of prohibition(I really didn't want to equate the spirit of Pokémon to, well, spirits, but specifics aside, they seem to be really close in nature).  The whole idea of fences may change(as has the idea of actually battling bulldozers, since that would force me to change the basic nature of the game)...  Since this is a ruby hack, team magma (or whatever I rename them) will be some mafia-like group within the illegal Pokémon underground.  They have the idea to awaken the legendary Groudon as a reminder to everyone that the spirit of Pokémon is unstoppable, or something like this.  Like the team in power, plausible intentions that lead to disaster.  So the hero must go and stop them before Groudon ruins the world.




   Most of the story will be in game in the form of dialogue with certain people, like with most (if not all that have a story) Pokémon games.

Current Stage of development: Up to small map changes and alike (mostly screwing around with things that I may not actually incorporate in the hack), but everything is gaining momentum.

Map idea done and gridded-very basic idea
Downloaded lots of programs and got them to work
Began idea development-where most progress seems to get made
Moved & renamed one route
Changed around the map a little

Change Sprites
Change Sound (Not on my usual computer because there's no sounds but beeps, so I hear nothing.  The sound for all I know could be spewing curse words)
Adding what the police would "battle" with (like how they sometimes face off against bulldozers in the anime)
Maps (also place names, flying spots and other junk)
Dialogue
Change certain move stats (like change the power for certain moves that have changed from gen. 3)
Decide if I'm going to change certain things like certain Pokémon pictures (only gives more originality, but is something that would get done only after the necessary)- would involve scanning in drawings and creating sprites from them
Some other things that I'll add later...


The purpose of this thread is to be the place where this hack gains support (meaning go ahead and post all you want) and possibly I may ask questions about certain hack-related things or even just opinions of certain game aspects.  Since this hack is so far from completion, I don't feel like deciding about testers or anything yet.
