I think that "The Missing Stars" is a great hack. I heard it's the very first "complete" hack of Super Mario 64.

I think the creators did a fantastic job of turning a simple 3D game for the Nintendo 64 into a whole different thing. There are a lot of things in this game that are different from the original game.

The first thing is the music. A lot of brand-new music was put in to this game. I don't even know how ANYONE can put custom music from other video games into Super Mario 64. I bet it's pretty hard work to do that.

The second thing is that you can play as one of two characters. I don't think ANY other Super Mario 64 hack does that. That is one of the biggest differences that this game has from the original Super Mario 64.

The third thing is brand-new objects. In one of the levels called "The Abandoned Shack", there is a brown platform that moves around and tries to squash you. There are also enemies from Super Mario 64 that you can talk to, like a Shy Guy.

A fourth thing is that there is actually a "Day to Night" pattern in this game. The music is different in most of the "night-time" versions of the levels.

I could go on like this forever and ever until the end of time with differences, but instead I will just tell you one more.

A final difference between "The Missing Stars" and "Super Mario 64" is that Mario gets a fire power that he can use in the final battle. I think that is really cool and NO other hack of Super Mario 64 does something like that.

Well, that's about it. If you haven't tried this game yet, DO SO because it is a really good game and I really enjoy playing it almost every day.

You left me wanting to know more! You mentioned Luigi is playable, but besides appearances, is there any playing differences between him and Mario? What's the story like?

EDIT: Changed. For a second, thought this was a review, my apologies. :X

Well, I guess there is ONE difference between Mario and Luigi. Luigi is taller than Mario in this game (just like he usually is) and since he is taller, he can reach higher places easily. And also, if you didn't know this, you can switch between Mario and Luigi by pressing the "A" button on the keyboard. The story is changed a bit because Princess Peach gives you a fire power you can use in the final battle (so basically Peach isn't kidnapped in this game). That's pretty much it!
