Until finding Vizzed I had only played four of the five Fire Emblem games available in the United States.

Fire Emblem (US release of Burning blade) GBA - Over all a good game, my first FE game and also my favorite. Good Story great characters and it has a few different difficulties and stories which make for some replay value. Has an extra mode that allows you to form five man teams from the characters in a save file and battle against other five man teams.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones GBA - A good game probably my second favorite of the FEs that I own a hardcopy of. Some cool characters and a great story, has a creature campaign mode that allows you to continue playing the game and obtain some of the Enemy bosses from the game as playable units. It also has two places that are infinite training grounds that can be played repeatedly.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Gamecube - The first and only FE game for the Gamecube. it has some really great characters as well as a new race called the laguz. The laguz have three types Beasts, Birds, and Dragons. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. Probably my least favorite of the games but only because it is so different from the others.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon DS - This FE is an enhanced remake of the original Fire Emblem game. It has some really great characters and a great story. I have just recently beaten this game. I would rank it as my third favorite of the games I own.

If I had to rank these games based on how they play, the story that is told, and their difficulty to complete it would go like this.

FE 9/10
FE: SS 7/10
FE: PR 8/10
FE: SD 8.5/10

My favorite is undoubtedly Path of Radiance. I played it so many times that I could say almost the entire script as it happened. It's been a few years, so I'm a bit rusty. Regardless, it was my first Fire Emblem game. The story had nice depth, the graphics were lovely, and the challenge was just right.

I would have to say Fire Emblem: Awakening is the best so far.
The freedom it allows you. Allowing you to free roam the map.
To develop every character to it's max potential through the purchase
and use of the reeking boxes, master seals and second seals. Not
to mention the wide roster of characters, without including the
ability to recruit iconic characters from older installments of
the series. The ability to create your own character/avatar was
a major plus, along with the stunning graphics. I'd give it a 9.5/10.
Solely because there's no such thing as a PERFECT game.

I have yet to play Awakening, and have only briefly played the Tellius series games, but my favourites are the Elibe games, mostly for the story and challenge. Sacred stones was cool, having branching promotions, but was far too short and easy, while i just don't like Shadow Dragons presentation. I'm struggling through FE4 Right now, but the maps are rather large...

Fire Emblem Sacred Stones I think is the best.

In my opinion, Sacred stones has the best story line of all the other sacred stones.
