Pokémon Green Version, when this game was released in America was changed to have a Blastiose on the front and was affectionately called Pokémon Blue Version. However, in Japan this game was all the rage. Although it is the same as blue version, if you play this game it is not hard to see why so many Japanese kids loved the game. It is a fun adventure game. Being one of the original copies of the game I gave this a 10. It runs just the same as blue version, with just a few sprite differences.

For the graphics I gave a 10 because nothing was really changed, however in America when blue and red were released they changed the Pokémon sprites because they felt the original games Pokémon looked strange. I think however that a lot of the original sprites in the Japanese Red and Green look a lot better than what they gave us. But that is just my opinion. The one thing that really does bother me with the game is the translation, it is just terrible. It bothered me so much that I just played it in Japanese instead. I loved it. I have been starting to play a lot of my games in Japanese because of Green.

The sounds I gave a 10 as well, again nothing different between the Japanese and American versions. Except, Lavender Town (I know, I know it is about to turn all creepypasta right?). In Japan the music for Lavender Town had a few frequencies that were later replaced because they put a strain on the speakers and gave some kids headaches and nausea. A lot of people heard about this and started the creepypasta saying that because of the frequencies a bunch of kids in Japan committed suicide. This is just not true, and majorly ridiculous don't you think Nintendo and Gamefreak would have been in a lot of trouble for that?

Now on to the addictiveness of the game, I gave that a 10. As soon I got the Japanese version up and running I just couldn't put it down I played all day and night. I loved it, I was working really hard on my party and eventually got my Dragonite Anyway, it is super fun and again nothing to different from Blue version (besides that one bit of sound and sprite differences). There was something I was a little confused with though, in the manga of Pokémon Green was a girl so why don't you get to play as a girl (Same for Yellow, only everybody thought Yellow was a boy at first because of the hat)?

I didn't bother to rate the story, considering just like Red, Blue and Yellow this game doesn't actually have a set story. You just go from town to town collecting Gym Badges and catching as many Pokémon as you can to become a Pokémon Master. The Depth and Difficulty of the game I gave a 5 because it is not very long once you start collecting your badges and it is really not hard at all. Especially if you level up high enough.

So I loved the game, it was really good. I recommend it, unless the translation bothers you then I would just play it in Japanese. But it may not bother a lot of, some of you may even find comedy in it. I hope you have a great adventure in Green version and that you recommend it to all of your friends, it is an original and it is a lot of fun.

pokemonfangirl : Actually yes, I have a few that I posted on here I did a review of Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Red 151 Hack, Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Ash Gray (Beta 3.61). And Thank you very much, I have been trying to work on my writing and I plan on making some more reviews on mostly Pokémon games since I'm a huge Pokémon fan.

I have heard lots of bad things about green, but my friend has it and to him once he learned the moves, he said it was an ok game. also in my opinion, the sprites would be a 1 because yellow sprites were much better than greens, mew is probably the worst of them all, but thats what i think.

pika123 : There were a few sprites in Green that I think were a lot better than Red/Blue, but Yellow had a bunch of better sprites as you said, Mew's sprite in Green was just crazy looking to me. I like Pikachus sprite in Green a lot better then R/B though.

Also I forgot to mention that the Mew glitch still works in this game (for those who are interested in glitching the games) but Missingno is obtained differently, if I remember correctly you have to use the Ditto glitch to find missingno and your Pokémon that battles with Ditto has to have a certain number as one of its stats (can't remember which one right now).

Mobouis1 : Thank you much I try really hard on my reviews. In all honesty I love the old graphics, it is a "hey remember this?" sort of thing for me and I'm always like "Yeah I remember" and I just feel so happy because I didn't forget what it was like and how it looked.

Just looking at the third screen shot and COMPLETELY misread the text in it, LOL.

Well, I guess it's pretty easy to mistake it but, c'mon... who can blame me?

I love Pokemon Green. A game of many rumors, the start of literally the most popular RPG franchise of all time by far with over 23 million sales in the entire series (I think that was the statistic?) and still rising.

Too bad we never got an English version of Pokemon Green for real. It would stop a lot of the ridiculous rumors such as "White hand" and "Buryman" and the Lavender Town syndrome. I mean scary stories are entertaining but something like that is ridiculous; it'd have been all over the news.
