If you know me well enough you will know that I LOVE fast action packed arcade games especially ones from Sega. I can handle fast action  but After Burner 2 is so fricken fast that I can't tell what going on about half the time. This has never happened to me in any video game modern or classic. Anyway let me go on with the review.

GAMEPLAY C-: I love fast arcade action but After Burner 2 is an over load. I can't tell whats going on a lot of the time. So you'll end up firing your limited missiles obsessively. It is nice however that your machine gun fires automatically, that relives a major stress. Still the game is still chaotic and fast.

GRAPHICS B+: The scaling of the game is smooth as well as the frame rate. Unlike the Master System version of After Burner 1. Each new stage kind of fells the same though they could have used more variety. The planes are really good looking too. It must have impressed lots of people back then.

SOUND B+: The music is great I actually sometimes try to hum it which is something I'm pretty good at. The voice samples are fairly clear but guy in the background saying fire fire all the time is annoying.

ADDICTIVENESS A-: The game is slightly less addicting then Outrun and other Sega arcade games but its still pretty addicting. I find myself playing this game all the time, and I don't stop playing until I beat it.

DEPTH B: Whats a bit disappointing is that 18 of the stages are from the previous After Burner. There are 3 added ones but the difference between this one and the first is very small. Still  there are 21 stages total, and that's a lot. There are 2 bonus stages that seem like the hardest levels in the game, but there's not much else. Just pure arcade action.

DIFFICULTY VERY HARD: Even though you have 3 continues beating the game without save states is a major challenge. You'll end up looking up a level select cheat code so you can continue your game again. I recommend this game to pros.
