A-VCS-TEC Challenge is a homebrew made for the Atari 2600, and it managed to impress me by how good the graphics and sound were. The game starts out with a weird tiki face or something like that with a little tune. Then you see a guy, a horizon, and some arrows coming at you. The game pushes the limits of the 2600 which is what I expect from homebrews.

GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is fair but hard to understand at first. Like at the first stage with the arrows. I thought that the arrows were coming towards you as you were running towards the horizon. I turns out that I had bend over for some of the arrows.  Also if you bend over to long you get a life lost which is ridiculous. The controls however are good and there is some variety for an Atari game.

GRAPHICS: The graphics are excellent. There are a ton of colors and the guy actually looks like a realistic person, and not just a blob of pixels. There is backgrounds, scenery, plenty of colors, and a realistic looking character. The game has all the visuals that anyone would ask from an Atari game.

SOUND: The sound is pretty good. In  fact amazing, there is a very long song at the end of each stage and it sounds great. You never hear music in an Atari unless its an intro song other then that it's very rare to have an actual song heard in an Atari game.

ADDICTIVENESS: I was never really into the game. It took me a couple of game over's and I got board. I usually get very addicted into an Atari game but not for this one. For this game I got board quickly, I did manage to beat the 2 stages a couple of times and then I just changed the game. However for a high score contest this game would hold up pretty well.

DEPTH:  The game has 2 unique stages. The first one where you are trying to avoid arrows, and the 2nd one is where your trying to avoid boulders. The game would have had more depth, if it had at least some game variations. That's what most Atari games had. In fact Space Invaders had 112 game variations.

DIFFICUTLY: It took me a while to beat the 2nd stage, but the 1st one is very easy. Just don't bend down too long. The 2nd stage is hard because it requires spit second decisions.

OVERALL RATING: 8

Sounds interesting! Although I don't really play many Atari Games (aside from the classics) I might have to try this out.

Great review, especially considering the limited content you had to actually talk about. Great job!
