Kirby's Dream Land 2 is the sequel to Kirby's Dream Land and like Super Mario Land 2 it has more levels and features. The game has several levels in different worlds. These levels get shorter as you progress through the game.

GAMEPLAY: Unlike it's predecessor this game has more variety of gameplay. Kirby now has his famous copy ability were he swallows an enemy were he can have whatever power that enemy has. Kirby also has little friends like a hamster that he rides on to give him slightly more speed, an owl that grabs on to him and makes him fly without him doing it him self. The owl can also fly through strong winds that Kirby cannot, then there's the disturbing fish. He literally puts Kirby in his mouth and allows him to swim through the ocean with ease, and of course the fish can swim through strong currents in the ocean. Each of the animals has advantages and disadvantages. The controls are pretty good and easy to get used to. So in the end, this game has more gameplay variety then the previous game, but does not have the simplicity of the original.

GRAPHICS: The game can go into the Super Game Boy adapter giving the game some color. The box said "programmed to take full advantage of Super Game Boy features" and however wrote on the back of the box was right. Nintendo used the Super Game Boy pretty well. Even the 4 or so colors are enough to make the levels have a good theme. If you played this on the Game Boy with out the adapter you would have a lack of themes. Another thing I have to praise is the more creative level design. There are more secret routes and more details in the levels then the first game.

SOUND: Like the graphics, the sound has dramatically improved. The soundtrack is way more complex and there's more sound effects then in the first game. There's even songs for when you team up with one of your animal friends.

ADDICTIVENESS: I wish the game was more addicting. Despite all the cool stuff this game has to offer. I was hoping for the game to be over soon. Plus it does not have very much replay value so I wouldn't consider playing this game for very long.

STORY: It starts out with Dark Matter. An evil force that destroyed the rainbow bridges. The rainbow bridges helped connect the 7 unique islands of dream land. Kirby goes on a quest with his 3 animal friends to save the islands by defeating Dark Matter and bringing the rainbow bridges back.

DEPTH: This game has a lot to offer there's 39 levels including all the boss stages. There's hidden secrets, and one of them is the rainbow drops. There's one on each island, and you need them all to defeat Dark Matter. If you don't get them all you will fight King Dedede.

DIFFICULTY: What Kirby's Dream Land needed was difficulty. Well in this game there is a lot more difficulty that video game pros needed. The game is still fairly easy though.
