Pac Man was an arcade machine released in 1980 and had several ports including the disastrous Atari 2600 version. The game has a port for the Colecovision, and has very similar graphics to the arcade version. Let's take a closer look, shall we.
GRAPHICS: The graphics are top notch. They are literally identical to the arcade version. This is because the Colecovision is capable of producing arcade quality graphics. The maze might be a bit squished, but in general the game looks very similar to the arcade counterpart.
SOUND: The sound is nearly identical to the arcade version too. The sound is slightly lower pitched but for the most part, it's like the arcade version.
ADDICTIVNESS: Like any Pac Man game. This is addicting, very addicting. I don't have much to say for this section though.
DEPTH: The game has 6 variations. 3 for 1 player, easy, medium, and hard, and it's the same for 2 players, easy, medium, and hard. It's very satisfying to rack up points and Pac Man and the ghosts get faster as you complete the levels.
DIFFICULTY: The game is just as hard as the arcade version and any port of Pac Man. With 3 difficulty levels, anybody can play, they can be beginners and experts. Any person of any skill level will enjoy this classic game.
OVERALL RATING 9
I recommend you play this port. It's a heck lot better then the terrible Atari 2600 port, and it offers the same arcade style gameplay and graphics that the arcade version does. If you like Pac Man, play this quality port!
