The image, , is missing. This is my current rank image. I couldn't really think of anywhere else to post this, but it would be helpful to pass this information to wherever it is supposed to be.

UPDATE: is also missing. My rank apparently changed, but this image also doesn't work.

EDIT: Because of the extreme restrictions on newbies I have to use this thread for all problems.

Where to begin...

Problem Set 1

When using Quest 64 in 1964 emulator, the Vizzed RGR plugin will ALWAYS crash sometime after startup within the first minute. Clicking buttons causes it to crash, and leaving it alone causes it to crash.

This issue happens when you click 1964 plugin (sometimes) and it always happens if glide64 loads.

When I click on glide64, if it doesn't work, it will sometimes say 'Failed to load video pluginC:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginN64Pluginsglide64.dll'. I look there, the file is there. Quest 64 is a game known to be compatible with glide64. When using glide64 with Mupen, it does work.

When clicking on Rice, I get 'Failed to load video pluginC:ProgramDataVizzedVizzedRgrPluginN64Pluginsricevideo5.6.0.dll'. Once again, the file is there.

Problem Set 2

When using Mupen64, despite saying on the bottom left corner that DoubleClick = Menu. Doubleclick != Menu. It refuses to open up the controls changing menu.

When choosing a different video plugin on Mupen64 or 1964, if you started playing without the chat box it will suddenly create itself pushing the video off the window.

Quite often after messing with things visual artifacts happen in 1964 outside of the game window.

The Game window doesn't fit the screen given by Vizzerd.

Problem Set 3

When I change Glide64.ini to correct the problems I want to correct in the settings given for Quest 64, Vizzerd changes them back every time. This is unacceptable, Vizzerd shouldn't reset the config options every time it starts. Setting the file to Read Only prevents Vizzerd from replacing it, but as it turns out the file isn't used anyway. I changed the resolution and other options, as well as the changes I need to make for Quest 64 to display properly, but Vizzerd ignores the file.

In any case, Vizzerd does not properly configure the Glide64 plugin to display Quest 64 correctly. Adding Filtering mode: Force Point-sampled to Quest 64 removes the graphical issues with text.

The broken images are just a little thing. Those files were uploaded a long time ago, so there's a chance that they got lost or something during an update. Regarding the rest of that stuff....

tRIUNE :

I read through all of it and said "huh?" so I figured I'd bug you about it.

Okay... problem 1:

The 1964 emulator as to my knowledge has some problems with Kirby 64; the best I personally think is Mupen64 with Glide64 (only Mupen64 shows the health and ability bars).

This will have to be marked on the game page if I get to it, however, an RGR Staff member is currently testing all N64 games alphabetically and hasn't tested this one yet.

Problem 2:

Mupen64 with the RGR Plugin doesn't support customizing controls - the info on the page hasn't been updated since only Davideo7 can change that and he already has a lot more responsibility than any of the staff in my opinion. As for the window being pushed off the side when selecting a different video plugin, yeah I don't have control over that either, however, move your mouse to the edge of the game window and you'll notice the pointer change to arrows - then click and hold while moving the mouse to the right which will expand the window to fit the game screen.

Problem 3:

The ini file loads dynamically through the Plugin. This is because the games are being played through an internet browser and not offline.

tRIUNE : That was the perfect guide for the new N64 emulator guide.

I'm moving this to the Retro Game Room forum.

You should think of sticky this as a guide for the N64 since these questions seem to pop up a lot.

RequiemHaunt : Thanks, I think it was an "ok" guide; I think BNuge and I need to make a joint effort to update the guide of his that's already stickied (Retro Game Room FAQ Guide). I've been updating it periodically whenever I have time, although I haven't mentioned to him that it needs updating.

tRIUNE : I also think that the RGR should have a link to the guide so people who only play the games can easily find it. I have no idea if the guide you are talking about is for all the systems or not.

I think if the RGR had a FAQ/Guide on the top it would help lots of users and thus they don't have to go hunting and pecking for answers or ask questions in the wrong places. At least it will reduce all of that.
