Finally a good guy... Sort of

Overall:
If you have ever played and enjoyed any of the older final fantasy game or any similar (Earthbound) and you love Mario then this is a perfect game for you! The best part about this game is that for once Boswer is not portrayed as the villain of the game! When you start the game you are to believe you are rescuing the princess.. Yet again.. From of course Bowser. But since at the very beginning of the game you are already at what would normally be the end of the game you soon realize that in this game, things are going to be a little different. Surprisingly not only does Princess join your group to take on a new evil but so does Bowser. Of course he has an ulterior motive (being that he wants his castle back so he can plan his next kidnapping) Its a really fun game with a really different kind of Mario story. Its about time they changed it up a little

Graphics:
When I rate a game I like to rate them by the graphics of the time the game was made. This game is very old now and even for its time it could have spruced it up a little more. I was going for the 3D kind of look and being one of the first games to try and do that, I feel they did pretty good although I do feel they could have fixed it up just a little bit more before releasing the game.

Sound:
Same as usual. The same few songs playing in the background. Some happy, some intense. Always fitting the mood of what is happening at that particular time in the game though. That is always one thing I loved about older games. And also you cant have a Mario game with out a remix of some of the classic Mario songs from the beginning of the saga!

Addictiveness:
As usual Nintendo has created another addictive Mario game. I don't know how they do it but they do it very well. As usual with RPG games you lose a sense of time because battles can take up to a half an hour or more or sometimes less. When a battle is done of course you have to play a little further to see what you have just accomplished! So again, it is very easy to lose track of time. They did good on the story with this one. There really is no time you really want to stop and take a break. You always want to know what is going to happen next!

Story:
On this journey Mario and his pals are to collect all the Star Pieces,

so that they can repair star road but they soon learn that the last one

is in Bowsers castle who is now inhabited by the evil Smithy.
For finally changing up the story line and changing the villain completely, Nintendo did a really great job! I was entertained for hours and hours. As I said in "addictiveness" you never really want to take a break. Every character to meet that joins your group has their own unique reason for being there, but only together can they stop the evil that threatens them.

Depth:
There's not a whole lot of extra things to do in this game. No real side quests. Its pretty much "go here" "go there". There are some hidden items and such like any other RPG but I think this is one of the more simplest ones by far.

Difficulty:
When I was in about grade 4 was the first time I played this game. A friend of mine and I could not get past one of the bosses. It seemed like it took forever when we did it. When I played it again a few years ago, that boss was killed in about 4 shots.. So I don't think the game is very hard at all especially if your an avid gamer, and compared to the games that are out there now this is a cake walk.

I hope that many of you enjoyed playing this game as much as I did!

Oh, this game again. I really like the game's introduction to the RPG element in a Mario game. I can play this game anytime, because they did pretty well on the game.
