  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released in 1992, for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. It sold 6 million copies, making it the second best selling Genesis game. Sonic 2 introduced Tails, aka Miles Prower. 

  • The story is more long and detailed than Sonic 1.  Robotnik wants to take over the world and enslave innocent animals  as usual, but something's different this time. To rule the world, Robotnik is using the power of the chaos emeralds to build his doomsday machine called the  Death Egg. Sonic has a new friend along this time. Called Tails, he will help Sonic in his quest to gather the chaos emeralds and destroy the Death Egg. (Story rating 8.)

  • The graphics are improved as well. More defined sprites, extended backgrounds, and a great looking special stage. (Graphics rating 9.)

  • The sound hasn't improved much. More instruments in the songs, and greater sound effects. Not much else really.(Sound rating 8.)

  • Sonic 2 is just as addicting as it's predecessor. In fact maybe a little more. One reason is because of its huge replay value, and another reason is because you can play it any way. For points, time, and just a fun adventure.( Addictiveness rating 9.)

  • This game has a lot to offer. With a total of 20 levels, a 3D special stage, 2 player, and plenty of cheat codes. Just shows that SEGA put a lot of work into this game.(Depth rating 8.)

  •  Sonic 2 is not very difficult. It is a good game for starters on the Sonic series. It will also attract hardcore 
 fans.( Difficulty rating 6.)
