Either Hoenn or Johto. Both were good in my opinion. I enjoyed Johto because a lot of my favorite pokemon were in that region. I also enjoyed Hoenn because of the contests introduced there, and I prefer May over Dawn anyday.

Nothing will ever beat the 1st generation, I grew up playing 1st generation and they put their heart and soul into making blue, red, green and yellow. If you compare the 1st generation with some of the new generation Pokémon, you can see that the imagination put into making the Pokémon is floundering and the heart isn't in the game anymore

I definitely have to say the second gen the first gen was cool and all but the pokemon weren't that interesting, The third gen honestly almost ruined the series for me the fourth gen I am not that interested in and the fifth gen saved the series for me but the second generation had my favourite set of gym leaders there was not a single second gen pokemon I did not like and I loved how in Crystal, Heart Gold and Soul SIlver you could go to Kanto too!
