It is unfortunate, but hey, what are ya going to do about it. You can finish the game without those two Pokemon anyway.

So after defeating the 8th gym leader I couldn't find the person to get the Waterfall HM anywhere so suspecting my game was glitched I closed and reopened the game without saving. The last time I saved was before I beat the 8th gym leader but this time I am enclosed within his little area with him.

It's like the switches you had to pull to get there hadn't been pulled at all so I am essentially stranded on this side of the lava pit. I've tried rebeating him a couple of times but after the battle I face this same problem still. Is there any way to fix this? I'd really rather not restart so close to the elite four.

I guess the best thing to do is to keep restarting your game. I happen to glitch a lot when playing as well, and some restarts (not restarting the story, but refreshing) help sometimes.

By the way, Red has the HM Waterfall. He is by the elevator in the Mart, first floor to the left.

Gnoggles : I had the same problem in the 5th gym, I think it tends to do that to the gyms with switches. Do you save in game? Cause Save states are probably the safer option, since they prevent most of the glitches. Other than that, just do what Sidewinder did. haha...

You can teach Charizard anything you want. But I recommend not teaching him bad moves like Cut and Rock Smash. I would rather recommend getting an HM slave. That's an easy way of solving that issue, unless you are the type to get a full party the first few gyms. I do not, as I do not need to, so it's fine for me. Fly is a nice move, but there are some other new HM's that are better to teach to him than Fly. 

As for Gligor, I have not played in a long time, so I do not know where exactly to find it. Sorry bud.

To get an Eevee, you must defeat all of Team Steam in Esmerald City. There will be a guy on the bench, and he will offer you an Eevee. As to evolve it to either an Umbreon or Espeon, there's a lot of question about this. Some people say give it a moon stone (Umbreon) or a sun stone (Espeon), or evolve in a dark place when it has max happiness (Umbreon), and a bright place with max happiness (Espeon). 

Good luck with your Eevee. I have not tried those methods, but they seem legit.
