Zelda 2 Link no Bouken or Zelda 2 (JP) whatever you prefer to call it is basically the same as it's American release but with a few differences some minor, some major. Let's Start with the Minor Changes, 1st. When you move out of a town you have to wait longer than you do in the American release with a screen that says WAIT. 2nd. When you want to get an item found in a temple or cave you must stab at it with you're sword which was changed in the US release where you just have to touch it or walk into it. Now Let's get to the major changes these will either make you like this version more or hate this one more. 1st. When you get a level up in this game you can select any power you wanna upgrade unlike the US where there is a Point-Lock where you have to get that number of experience points before you can level up that certain power like health, magic, or Attack. 2nd. When you lose all 3 lives during the game you restart at the temple where Zelda sleeps but if you upgraded any of your powers all of them will be knocked back down to 1 when you start playing again so if you're attack is 5, Magic 4, and Health 6, when you did all 3 go back to 1 again which was changed in the US version but you also have the experience lock on the powers so it's good and bad at the same time. Other than those things I mentioned there isn't any changes to the game at all the story is the same, temples are the same, items are the same, town are the same almost everything stays the same. If you don't like the US version and wanna try the original Japanese version play this you'll either run back to the US version or throw the US Version out the window to keep this one.

Overall it's worth a shot if you have play the American release and want something a little different
