Ah. I was just wondering how much you make on average from this site and it's traffic, after all the projects. And another thing, why did you send me the 500 viz? You never did answer that one.

thing1 : It's really hard to determine how much I make off of the site because it differs from month to month because the traffic fluctuates and advertisers are willing to pay more and less depending on the month. Also there's so many different fees. $2000 for server fees and than there's many other various fees and lately I've been investing a lot of money into buying retro games, I'm working on getting a physical copy of every game in the RGR, it'll take me years but it's something I've been investing money into. I currently have around 150 N64 games and 200 NES games, both collections which I've purchased from my Dad (he's a game collector and has a ton of games).

After all the fees though, I usually do make enough to get by which is important because if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to justify putting 40-60 hours a week into the site. Believe me though, I'm not making a lot though, my wife and I live with her parents because we can't afford our own place.

As for the 500 Viz, it was for the thread I have where users can do various offers for Viz.

oh. ok then. and that is nice, that her parents are allowing you guys to stay at their place, while you sit on a computer all your darn life. lol.  Maybe it is because they get to spoil the grand kids?

I assume you are aware of what has happened to the index page, correct? Do you plan to post a message on the Facebook page to assure everyone that the rest of the site is fine as well as tell them that they can easily work around this by typing vizzedboard.com?

David, I don't know if anybody ever asked you this, but, will you ever finish the other sites you created? Such as mybiblegames, and the other sites you posted on your portfolio?

thing1 : Originally my wife and I rented the upstairs of a duplex after we got married but I got layed off from my job about 8 months later after getting married and we could no longer afford to live where we were living so thankfully her parents were able to make room for us to move in.

Her parents love having us live here, especially since they get to see our daughter (their grand daughter) every day.

MasterDash : What's my favorite GBA game? That's tough because I've never really thought about that. I think I'll have to say Monster Rancher 2. I've got some good memories with that game and I put a lot of time into it.

Sephirothxxxxxxxxxxx : I actually do have a famicom game, to be honest I don't remember which game it is since I've only played it once and haven't touched it in nearly 10 years. I have a converter for my NES which lets me play famicom games on my NES. I have the European import of Shenmue 2 for the Dreamcast, that doesn't really count but I'm proud of owning that so I figured I'd mention that as well.

thing1 : The word vizzed is based on Viz which was the name of my original site but when I realized Viz was already a company I modified it to vizzed. viz kinda spun off of my own name which is david. Before I came up with the username Davideo7 I was actually considering doing 'Vid Kid' since 'vid' was in my name but than I remembered that one of Burger King's characters from the 90s (which is the era I grew up in) was named that (as seen here) so I decided not to go with that username and eventually came up with davideo7 and went with that instead; the word 'viz' might've also been influenced by that.

manicman66 : Right now I guess you could say I'm posting for fun, especially since I made this thread for fun with the intent to post for fun lol. Probably 90% of my posting is for business and 10% for fun. I'd like to do more "fun" posting but that would take away from development and I already have a huge to do list of things I want to implement on the site and things that I need to fix.

nimture : The only RPG Maker I ever got into was RPG Maker 95. I made 1 finished game with it and a few unfinished games. I also started to make a game with RPG Maker for the Playstation but it was too time consuming and I didn't really want to invest that much time into a game that only I'd be able to play (since there was really no way of distributing the game to let others play it without giving them my memory card).

Seishiro.Leonhart : Maybe someday when I have time. For the time being though, vizzed is the bigger priority.

Yeah I definitely would. Though I do feel like I have been competing more this time compared to last time. If I have nothing left to develop, I'd be going for a Jersey every day lol.

rcarter2 : I didn't notice that either, that's pretty funny. At first I thought you were saying something about Master Chief so I got pretty excited lol.

MegaRevolution1 : Biblical times. It's my favorite since it's the time mentioned in the Bible lol.

I'd say it's about 50/50. That's just a guess though.

Pro_Master : Nope, I'll never do that again. It was never my idea to dump the old board, it was Randy's idea. Although doing that might have been for the best, I promised I'd never do it again. Plus now that I'm a full time developer of the site and the only developer, I do my own updates so I have no reason to switch to another board software engine when I'm the only creating my own on top of this current one. When we switched from the old board to this one, I had basically no PHP or MySQL knowledge so Randy took care of almost everything at that time. Since this new board went up, so much of the code has been modified that I'd say the acmlm code makes up less than 40% of the forum code and less than 20% of the overall code of the entire site. My goal has been to add enough features and recode all of the code so that eventually the entire board code is exclusive to vizzed.

Do you think Vizzed will ever get to the point where you look at it and say "There really isn't anymore stuff I can think of to develop"? If that ever did happen, what would you do with all that extra time? Have more fun on your completed site or spend time with family (or both)?

rcarter2 : I don't know if that will ever happen, I currently have tons of ideas for future features. It'll take years to implement all the ideas I have and between now and than, I'll more likely come up with a few more years worth of ideas and the cycle continues. So the answer is, probably not.

If that ever did happen though, yeah I'd enjoy the site more, spend more time with family and play more video games. I will someday probably reduce the amount of hours I put into the site each week, I'm just not sure when.
