Dark Sector X-box 360 Review
This game was over shadowed by great games like Gears of War and Call of Duty 4. Dark Sector is a mostly third person shooting game that came out in March of 2008.The game play is a lot like Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter or Gears of War. Dark Sector switches into a first person view when shooting a gun or throwing the glaive. The game play also allows for a lot of duck and cover situations, and shooting around corners.
The story line of the Dark Sector starts off with the main character Hayden doing a co-op mission in the U.S.S.R just after the cold war. This is done mostly in a gloomy black and white picture. The goal is to save a comrade that has been captured by the enemy, and to stop the spread of a virus. What gives this game a lot of props is the AI. The AI in this game is really smart. As the game moves on they are taking cover and moving around to get their shot off just as much as you are fighting for your positions. As you progress through the game you end up getting infected by the virus, which is how you get the very cool glaive for a weapon.
The story of Dark Sector starts out really strong in the beginning but starts to slow down. The cut scenes are really short and far in between. So if you play this game for the story be ready for a disappointment, however, if you play the game for the combat and shooting, you are in for a real treat. The game seems to have been made to “wow” you with the combat and gruesome finishing moves. So much so that when this game came out it was banned in Australia for being so violent. However, Gears of War and Call of Duty was not banned when they came out about the same time. Not to down play this game at all it is very violent and you can get some really nice decapitations with
the glaive. But, Australia also banned Blitz: league because of the reference to drugs.
This is defiantly a game that you should look up and try. The game play at first is really hard to get use to but all in all you will not be disappointed one bit.
Graphics: I give this 8.5 on the graphics. Not knowing much about graphics though it doesn’t really mean much. However, the graphics being as good as they are still have some flaws. Example, the glaive going through walls as it returns to you.

Storyline: I give this 4.5 on the storyline. The beginning was really good but as the game moves on it was like they got lazy and only focused on the combat part of the game.
Gameplay: I give this a 7.0 on the game play. If your not use to the third person type of games. The game play can be a little tricky at first. Also the fact that it goes from third person to first person when shooting takes a little to get use to when shooting around the corners. (If you have played Gears of War or Ghost Recon you will be fine)
Overall: I give this game a solid 8.5 the game is the best-hidden treasure you can find out there. If it wasn’t for the fact that it came out with Gears of War and Call of Duty 4 this game would have made it big and we could have seen sequels of this game. The online part of this game is also something that would have caught on as well if it was not for the big name games of Call of Duty and Gears of War.
So have fun with the glaive as that is truly this games pride and joy.
