Graphics : 8
I think the graphics are pretty good, especially compared to the other SNES games I have played. It looks pretty clean. There are some lag issues when closing a gate causes major changes to the immediate area, but this only happens a couple times, and isn’t a big problem.
Sound : 9
I find the music very catchy, and I’ve spent time just listening to it. Although I wish there was different music for each boss battle, or at least a little variation, it’s great everywhere else, and typically fits each area’s feel really well.
Addictiveness : 10
I actually recently replayed this, and as always, great fun, and a bit nostalgic, being one of the first video games I ever played. This may be affecting this score, but I still think this game has great potential to be played over and over again.
Story : 4
The story is rather lame. It seems a little recycled and dry, and the game might have been better without it, in my opinion. The bit at the end didn’t help the story at all, either.
Depth : 6
There really isn't much more than the linear path, except for what could be considered a side quest near the end. Most any point you get stuck will be fixed by you "overhearing" something from a released soul, so there isn't much searching for clues either.
Difficulty : 5
It isn't incredibly difficult. Being that it is all hack and slash, and there isn't really any level grinding for anything. The bosses aren't too hard, so you can beat it without being very good. The only really hard part, at least for me, is remembering which button does what. It's annoying to try to cast a spell, and end up opening the menu. Of course, this may just be my problem.
Overall : 9.0
